Jay Who? Is what you’ll say, but after listening it will be more like “WTF did he just say?!” Jay Who is making beats, stepping up to the mic, and in a big way. He’s letting it hang out and don’t care who hears him. On top of that Jay Who is a name dropper on “The Name Drop,” but dropping some serious issues on “Anymore.” The beats are tight and the lyrics are a throw back to fun hip hop. Check it out Download it here. BIG thanks to Ill Vibes for the post.

Call it an EP or a short mixtape this dynamic duo is cranking out “Beautiful Music.” Smooth lyrics from M.C. Luck-One and beat maker Dekk on deck makes instant classics. I played Beautiful Music on repeat and lost track of the beginning and the end. Like it should be on all the time. If you’re looking for an insant classic, Beautiful Music is for you. I can’t wait to hear what’s on the LP. BIG thanks to Dekk for posting it on your Blog. Download the EP here. Check out Luck-One and Dekk on MySpace.

Before there were hipster rappers, there were funky ones. And no one did it like Del The Funky Homosapien and the Hieroglyphics. Del is always cranking music out one way or another, and he is back at it again. This time Fo-FREE! Yeah Fo-FREE. He has made a bandcamp web site, and put all his albums up there…and some for free (for a limited time). You can stream all the albums, but the most recent ones are the freebies. Check it out. BIG thanks to HIP HOP DX for the posting it.

What else can i say about Black Spade…out right dope. CH isn’t on this level. I got “To Sever with Love” and waiting for the next album. In between time Black Spade has done a gang of guest apperances, remixes, and hosted a few HVW8 live sessions. He’s a man on the move, so try and catch up if you can. Check out more Black Spade on his MySpace page, and a.k.a. Stoney Rock.

When you hit play the first thing they tell you is, “This is not a mixtape, this is a prequel to the album.” I thought they were crazy, until i heard it. I would call “From There to Here” a complete album. It’s very well put together and has that laid back hip hop feel. The joint “Radio” took me back, especially when he calls out “Award Tour” by A Tribe Called Quest. Get it while you still can. Download the “album” here, or check out Outasight’s Mypace page. BIG thanks to 2DopeBoys for posting it.

Ok I’m not missing this for anything. I got a hold of a friend of mine (Jay Neal) to find out what he’s been up to. Man oh man, this cat is on FIRE. Jay called me and gave me the lowdown on Uhh! I checked out their MySpace page and rocked out to the tracks. This FRIDAY they are going to be preforming at Space 1520. It’s going to be HOT, come on out and get down on some real Hip Hop. Can’t wait to see what else Jay’s got cookin.

Although this is a bit old I can’t keep from listening to it. K-Salaam and Beatnick partnered again to remix some classic Common joints. If you haven’t heard it yet I guarantee that any Common fan will definitely feel this mixtape. Download it for free on their myspace page.
BIG thanks to K-Salaam & Beatnick for not only producing some great remixes but also posting them FO-FREE!
