B+C has been laying low for a while, but is running at full speed. One of the things that got us going, totally came Buy Surprise. Spon aka Sponatola hit me with this mix of beats. I started listening to it while he was giving me the back story. Spon is known for drop lyrics, but wanted to let folks know he can drop a beat too. I wasn’t familiar with Spon the rapper, but quickly got to know Spon the beat maker after playing Buy Surprise back to back several times. Buy Surprise shows the range that Spon has as a beat maker. Alright Falling Up is another one that I’ve been holding on to way too long. A while back I heard a few tracks from Frank Ramz, and hit him up to find out if he had more to check out…sure enough he did. Not 1 or 2, but 3 other projects he cranked out. 1 after Falling Up, and 2 before that. Was I sleeping on this cat or what?! Time to wake up. CSTC Mixtape is a skaters sound track! When I was in high school I’d cruise around town late at night playing De La, Common, and the Pharcyde. Some of the classic beats Stevie Crooks got on here gave me flash backs of those days. You don’t have to be a skater or have ever skated to enjoy CSTC Mixtape. My man Noa James does it again. Breaking out of the cage and bringing you Sounds Of A Monster. What I dig about that cat Noa James is his lyrics. He’s clever, shares personal stories and the 90s WWF references. Sounds Of A Monster lets you in on how Noa James ticks. One of my favorite tracks on this album is Therapy Session which show how Noa can paint a picture with his lyrics. I heard Kooley High’s mixtape (Kooley is High) and was digging it. Later I seen these cats out in LA on the grind. Handing out CD’s to everyone they could, and talking it up with other Hip Hop heads. I went to 2 events that weekend, and seen them on the move. It made me really curious about the documentary One Day, so later that week I watched it.
