My man Noa James shot me an email, and was like you gotta check out Curtiss King’s Snick @ Nite. After listening to Bangin’ On A Trash Can & Guttah Gullah Island I was feeling it, and was sure Snick @ Nite was *ish that’s going to be on some other level. Right away I was digging the play on Nick at Nite. Curtiss throws out all the old cartoons that I watched. That’s when I knew this project as dope. Download Curtiss King – Snick @ Nite here. Want more Curtiss King ?! Check out his other projects on Brick To Ya Face. BIG thanks Noa for the heads up. I.E. is bring’n it in 2010!

If there is one producer to look out for, it’s Snowman Jack. He’s cranked out tracks for artists from Guilty Simpson to Magestik Legend. I really got to know Snowman’s work when he did I Believe on the Starship 27 compilation, and that’s when I started digging around. I hit Snowman up to see what he could bless B+C with, and man he dropped these joints and then some. Now these are only the ones that I can share with you; Snowman also let me peep out a few more tracks that are for 2010. Let me just say…FIRE!!! Follow him on Twitter or check his MySpace because you don’t want to miss what’s coming. Download Snowman Jack’s Wide Awake and Problem Solver here. Thanks Pinkee for the picture. BIG thanks Snowman for blessing B+C with some dope music.

F.A.M.E.’s TruthPics has the B+C record for the number of times played back to back…4!!!! Teeko, Max, & Malaguti are three down to earth and cool cats the make up the group F.A.M.E..When I got the email, I put it on right away and I haven’t played anything else today. I’ve seen F.A.M.E. (Fresh Analog Music Experience) live a couple of times when they came to L.A., and it truly is an experience. F.A.M.E. sets up gangs of equipment and plays it ALL. They raised the bar for live performances, so go catch them in your city. “Lightly sweetened with tasteful turntablism and delicate vocal subtleties, this collection pays light to characteristics of truth using a wide range of styles and feels. Resulting in a colorful variety pack of future funk and hip-hop soul.” — Teeko
TruthPics is down right feel good music. Determination is one of those joints that puts you in a good party mood, and everyone’s having a good time. No matter who you play TruthPics for, you can’t go wrong. To make this even sweeter, TruthPics is just a glimpse into the full length album Come With Us (summer 2010). Find F.A.M.E. on YouTube MySpace, Twitter, wherever because these cats are the future. Download F.A.M.E. – TruthPics here. BIG BIG thanks Teeko, Max, & Malaguti for dropping Fresh Analog Music Experience on B+C. (Thanks for our 200th post)

You know my man Moonsatellite is up on anything about the ATL. Moon shot me a tweet a while back with a link to Beatz & Lyrics Show 10th Anniversary Mixtape. I checked out the playlist, and knew a few folks but most of the artists were new to me. Knowing that this is a 10 year anniversary mixtape for the Beatz & Lyrics Show made me curious if it had a few “pop hop” songs in it (you know what I’m talking about). I turned it on, and it was good to hear that a hip hop radio show can last 10 years (plus), and stay true to who they are. It was giving me hope in radio. Catch the Beatz & Lyrics Show on WRFG 89.3 (in Atlanta) at 10pm – 1am on Saturdays. Also check out the Beatz & Lyrics podcasts; and for updates, check out Beatz & Lyrics on Twitter. Download Beatz & Lyrics Show 10th Anniversary Mixtape here. BIG thanks Moon for giving the ATL lowdown.

I first heard of Buff1 years ago from my friend Dahlia when he dropped Pure. Moving Along (ft. Tiffany Page) & For U were my joints. From then until now he’s dropped many joints, featured on ton’s of tracks, and joined forces with many heavy hitters like Rhettmatic (Crown Royale). It’s A 1derful Life is a rundown of some projects and features that Buff1 has done, and it’s hosted by DJ Rhettmatic. It’s A 1derful Life is filled with high energy tunes that will make you dance. In an earlier B+C post, the great folks at A Side Worldwide let us know this was coming, and it’s been in heavy rotation since. Download Buff1 – It’s A 1derful Life here. BIG thanks Steph for the heads up. You’re a rock star.

First off, if you don’t follow HouseShoes on Twitter, you’re sleeping. Now to the music. Marv Won’s Way Of The Won hits hard. The first track, Rite Back, had me hooked. What Up came on and that’s when the volume got cranked up. I can’t talk about each track here, but i’m telling you, I haven’t skipped a track yet. From the banging beats to the storytelling style flows, you’ll see why this is in B+C’s heavy rotation. Download Marv Won – The Way Of The Won here. BIG thanks HouseShoes for the heads up.

I’m rounding out the year with stuff I’ve had in heavy rotation, and now I’m bringing it to you. It’s taken me a while to write about Ro Spit’s The OH S#!T Project because I keep playing it. Best way to describe it is “…more than a mixtape, but not quite an album.” nevertheless, still a banger. Ro Spit is one you shouldn’t sleep on. The OH S#!T Project has been out for a few months, and gets better and better every time I play it. Ro Spit also put his own spin on Jay-Z’s track (Empire) Renaissance State Of Mind that reps his city. Just download it NOW! Download Ro Spit – The OH S#!T Project from his site. BIG thanks Ro Spit for making The OH S#!T Project.

Got an email from my man Spon letting me know that Al jaZz and him just dropped Brazillionaires. The last project Spon put out, Buy Surprise, flexed his beat making skills, and he’s back to flex his lyrical ones. Al jaZz and Spon linked up through a remixed track that Al jaZz did. Shortly after that, they started sending beats back and forth. Most of the samples for Brazillionaires are from Brazilian tracks- hence the name. Needs vs. Wants, & Listen and Learn are a couple of my favorite tracks, but you can ride out on the whole thing. Download Impact Brazillionaires here. BIG thanks to Spon for the heads up.

Detroit is one city that is cranking out artists left and right. I got an email from Jon the other day with eLZHi’s latest release The Leftovers Unmixedtape, and I checked it out right away. eLZHi’s The Leftovers is a 14 track unmixedtape of old promos and projects, but together is a banger. The lyrics are hands down dope, and all of the producers are home run hitters. I think I even played that track “The Crowd” (produced by Leef) a few times in a row before I got to the next track. Call it what you want, The Leftovers Unmixedtape is one you’ll crank up the volume to. Download eLZHi – The Leftovers Unmixedtape at eLZhi.com. Keep and eye out for other projects eLZhi drops on MySpace. BIG thanks to Jon for the heads up.
