I gotta apologize for the delay on getting the word out on this month’s Boombox. It’s going to be an absolute must see, event! Anytime that Haz Solo puts out a project, I listen to it.  He recently teamed up with theOTHERSIDE to bring you this dope EP called Laundry Day.  I’m not even sure if I need to talk about this one. Haz is a riot, so you know anything he spits is a build up to something funny.  I’m waiting for Haz to have a show in LA. theOTHERSIDE (KENO the MC & Wallsauce the producer) are a dynamic duo you can’t sleep on.  KENO living Salinas, Ca. and Wallsauce in Charlotte, North Carolina together they make an explosive sound that will get you dancing.  Having all 3 on a single project, you now there is going to be more.  When I first listened to Laundry Day, and if I didin’t know Haz, I would have thought this was a group from the jump.  Their sound meshes together well and it seems very organic.  It’s dope.  Download theOTHERSIDE x Haz Solo – Laundry Day here. Al JaZz teamed up with Spon on Brazillionaires, and now he’s back with MWCC: Mozambique West Coast Coalition.  Teaming up with Dareenzo, & Origimoz they cranked out an instrumental tribute to the west coast.  Now I don’t know what Mozambique’s west coast sounds like, but the way this sounds they might have a city called Compton too.  Al JaZz Dareenzo, & Origimoz did a bang up job on this one.  You would’ve thought MWCC was done in L.A. somewhere.  I’m guessing their style is a combination of the 2 locations. B+C gets lots of emails everyday, and I’m glad to read them all. When the emails have links that lead to gems, I go bananas.  That’s what happened when I got an email from BoomBaptist with a link to his Beat Tape.  BoomBaptist posted the Beat Tape to see if folks were getting a feel for it, and I did for sure.  I have it in heavy rotation on the ipod now.  This beat tape is a little longer then most, but by the time you get to the end you’re waiting to hear some more. Other other day I was checking out what was new on Mint Collective’s site and ran across The Roots – Dilla Joints.  The Roots is one of my favorite band and J Dilla tracks, I can play all day.  Put them together and you got The Roots – Dilla Joints.  To top it off it’s FREE.  Are you kidding me?!  I would have bought this. There is also the track Antiquity with The Miguel Atwood-Ferguson Dillchestra. It’s that time of year again…RECORD STORE DAY!  Last year I went to all my usual spots to check out what was going on.  It was nothing but good times.  Each store had something different going on… and the discounts!  To Beats+Crates Record Store Day is a celebration of independent record stores not being run off by big corporations, and an appreciation to the artists that make the music.  It’s also a good way to meet the artists and other fans.  Check out the background on how Record Store Day got started and find a participating store near you.  Support Local Businesses and go buy a record.  BIG thanks to all the independent stores, artists, DJs, producers, bloggers, music fans, and all those cats still on the grind.

Episode 002: Space.Mind.Grind

The fam went all out on this one.  J1 aka THE DEER got heavy hitters Max Kane & Teeko, and they killed it.  I met these cats a while back and they have changed my whole outlook on live performances.  It’s some other level-ish.  Max & Teeko are 2/3 of F.A.M.E. When folks send in stuff to B+C sometimes it takes a while, and sometimes…it bumps.  Addifi came out of left field with The Green Diner when he got in touch with B+C.  Addifi expressed that he’s a fan of the site, and found some great tunes on B+C.  He went on to say that he’s a DJ/Producer in L.A. and recently put together a beat tape, The Green Diner.  I clicked the link to The Green Diner and before I knew it, I had gone through the whole thing.
