Not sure if you guys know about Tres Records, but they are cranking out great artists. Co$$ (aka Ca$hUSKing) has joined that group of talented folks. February/March Co$$ is gearing up to drop his LP on Tres Records, but before that let’s talk Revelations. Co$$ teamed up with Hip Hop producer Numonics from Florida that did a bang up job on these beats. I gotta do some more digging on Numonics, and from what I get from Revelations I know I need to keep my ears open for this dude. The combination of the 2 feels like it was meant to be. Co$$ gives a natural flow over Numonics upbeats tempos, and with guest appearances like Freddie Gibbs on Gone, you can’t help but to put Revelations on repeat. Keep an eye out for Co$$’ LP on Tres Records and download Co$$ x Numonics – Revelations here. BIG thanks to Chikara for the heads up.

I’ve seen the name Skeem Price pop up on several projects like Trek Life’sEverything Changed Nothing, Richard Wright’s#ramdommixtape 4.0, and then on some Black Cloud projects. He’s dealing with some good people, so I had to keep an eye out for this cat. I ran into Skeem Price at the Little Temple Bar, and he mentioned his mixtape was getting ready hit and to keep an eye out for it. I don’t have much to say about Skeem Price’sHazard Mixtape except GET IT! If this is a glimpse into what’s to come, you need to put Skeem Price high on your list. Gats & Pounds featuring Richard Wright is a banger, and that beat J. Bizness got on Star Struck… ridiculous. I won’t steer you wrong with this one. Download Skeem Price – Hazard Mixtape on Band Camp. BIG thanks to Skeem Price for the heads up. Big shout to DJ Buddy cutting it up & the host Chuck Dizzle.

I really don’t say much about going to this event except…GO!!! If you listen to music in general, you should be there. If you are thankful for the music J Dilla has blessed us with and everyone that he’s influenced, you should be there. House Shoes, Exile, Jeremy Ellis, and the Boombox crew…you should be there. Unless you’re outta town this will be the spot. Come out and enjoy the 4th Annual Celebration of the life & music of Detroit’s finest J Dilla on February 5th. Jerome D. is starting be a regular on B+C for sure. He’s cranking out dope videos that clearly are coming into a style of his own. The Journey (4U), shot in black and white, is Jerome D.’s second video with Versis. On a side note The Journey (4U) was produced by my man Dibiase, who makes crazy beats. Versis takes you on his journey through life. From “the man” holding him down to hard times with the family, he still has a positive outlook. Jerome D. has recently spend time updating his site (JeromeD.com), so check that out and also check out some of his other work. Check out Versis – illcandescent on BandCamp. You guys keep doing what you’re doing.

Cans and 7even Sun take Hip Hop from NY to France in 30 minutes and back again. Cans, from NY, linked up with French producer, 7even Sun to bring you some banging tracks. 420 Blowin will get you high just listening to it. The French Connection has that classic Hip Hop sound that makes it timeless. I was really feeling the French Connection from the get go, and still have it in rotation. Check out Cans & 7even Sun on MySpace. Download Cans & 7even Sun – French connection on Band Camp. BIG thanks 7even Sun for the heads up. Keep making that music.

I am here to tell you, this Richard Wright is that next cat. I’m not going to tell you what I know about Mary Jane, but you don’t have to be with MJ to know this is dope. This joint was first featured on Richard Wright’s#Randommixtape1.0 and now has dropped a digital 12” and video. It comes with an A Capella version, but I can’t see how you would make this joint better. Bombay kills this track and director Alex G hits the visuals. Download Richard Wright – Marry Mary Jane on Band Camp. I do have to give a BIG thanks to my man Trek Life for introducing me to Richard’s music. Click here for the Vimeo link.

Jansport J is a dangerous man on the beats, and this time he’s bring the soul with Save My Soul. Rocking to it in my headphones at work, getting into the vibe, and before I knew it I had listened to the whole album. Just like Jansport J’s earlier release, MoveMeants, this is an all instrumental album that you can just press play. Last Saturday at Store XIII (13)Jansport J had a listening party for Save My Soul, and a few advanced copies for sale. Soul music is like soul food, you always feel at home no matter where you’re at. Save My Soul gave me that same feeling listening to it on Store XIII sound system. This album is worth picking up. Buy your copy of Jansport J – Save MySoul on Band Camp or a physical copy at Store XIII. On a side note this is one of many releases off the Cov Original Music label, so keep your eyes open for what’s next. BIG thanks to Abraham for the heads up, and Jansport J for making dope music to rock to.

The Nice Guys’The Good Shepherd is a dope track from the get go. I watched the video 3 times just to hear it again. I’m a fan of city shoots and gorilla style (candid) videos. To me it seems personable when you take a stroll with the artist in an everyday situation. If you don’t know about The Nice Guys, check out their EP The Green Room.

A while back I got an email from these cats called the Late Bloomers ( Ahh:Zel, Nonstop & DJ ReallyNathan). The name was catchy and the music was good. It was their Growth Series 2 album that made me want to keep a close eye on them. The production is dope and their lyrics about what’s going on with them. It’s more of a personal journey into the lives of the Late Bloomers. It was well worth it to see what else they would pop up with. The Late Bloomers have linked up with the LA label Tres Records to bring you Three Shades Brown. Right away you can hear the growth in their sound, and the subject matters they talk about are grown folks issues. Money Maker kicks off talking about working the graveyard shift to trying to hustle making money spitting lyrics. Three Shades Brown worth checking out. Buy the Late Bloomers – Three Shades Brown at Fat Beats. Also check out Growth Series 2. BIG thanks to the Late Bloomersfor keeping me posted on their projects, and a BIG shout to Chikaramanga at Tres.

The great folks at Chinkyeyedla.com throw great events, and the their Belly of the Beatz is off the chain. A 16 man beat battle wrapped up with a performance with LMNO from the legendary Visionaries. It’ll be a packed house, so show up early.
