I don’t know, maybe I’m a sucka for sampling, but the Elevated Ruffians know how to make it a hit. Or it could be because they’re rep’n the I.E. to the fullest. I was first introduced to Seven Day (Jay Diction & J Listed) through Versis. Seven Day and Versis have been working on a few things here and there, so when I got an email from the duo I checked it out. They shot a few tracks to B+C now and again, but I wanted to hear what a completed project sounded like…not bad, not bad at all. SigNif x Haz Solo – The Transition Remixes

Haz Solo is cranking out the beats once again. This time he’s teamed up with New York based emcee SigNif. Haz gave me a quick run down on how this project came about. He linked up with SigNif, a fellow Milwaukee native, to produce a track (AfterNoon Jazz) on her album The Transition. That project was coming to a close and Haz was digging it. He wanted to make more, so he requested the acapella version of the title track, and made 4 different versions. Haz then got 4 other tracks which turned into The Transition Remixes. Anytime that Haz Solo puts out a project, I listen to it. He recently teamed up with theOTHERSIDE to bring you this dope EP called Laundry Day. I’m not even sure if I need to talk about this one. Haz is a riot, so you know anything he spits is a build up to something funny. I’m waiting for Haz to have a show in LA. theOTHERSIDE (KENO the MC & Wallsauce the producer) are a dynamic duo you can’t sleep on. KENO living Salinas, Ca. and Wallsauce in Charlotte, North Carolina together they make an explosive sound that will get you dancing. Having all 3 on a single project, you now there is going to be more. When I first listened to Laundry Day, and if I didin’t know Haz, I would have thought this was a group from the jump. Kendrick Lamar (EP) is another one I’ve had in heavy rotation on the ipod. Is It Love is the track that pulls you in. There’s a lot of good stuff coming from the West, and Kendrick Lamar is adding to the count. Keep killin ‘em. The first time I heard of Jerome D was when he shot that Carter Video, and I knew it wasn’t going to be the last time. Kendrick Lamar’s She Needs Me is another dope video from his latest projects. El Prez is a Los Angeles staple like the Lakers and In-N-Out. It shouldn’t be a surprise that El Prez’s title Animal Style! and cover art have that In-N-Out look. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. What does surprise me is that he can crank out projects, and be everywhere at once! For reals. I’ve seen him at several events, he’s mentioned on every blog (check the interview on LA Stereo), updates his tumblr site, and tweets throughout the day. I’d call him a super emcee. Svetnik is crazy talented. If you don’t know who he is there was a B+C post a while back that was about his other beat tape Lo.Fi. Rocking Lo.Fi made me feel relaxed and at peace no matter what chaos was going down. Blueprint gives you that same feeling with a nice upbeat tempo. I was cranking out all kinds of work listening to Blueprint. I dig the track Making Love To You because it sounds like there is a sample of one of my favorite songs; A Brighter Day by Ronnie Jordan.
