It’s a release party for not one but two albums dropping Tuesday, February 21 Hellfyre records presents a night with Open Mike Eagle, Nocando (Zero Hour), and Busdriver (Beaus$Eros). It might sound like a backpackers show, but all hip hop heads and music fans a like will dig it.

Do you know who DJ Quik is? If you answered yes or no to this question, then go directly to Boombox . This Saturday December 3^rd the great folks at Boombox are having their 5^th Anniversary party. They do a great party once a month, but when it comes to an anniversary party they really know how to do it up. December 3^rd is going to be a banger with special guest DJ Quik, and guest host M.E.D.. If you don’t know about M.E.D., his latest album Classic is the perfect introduction. It’s been on heavy rotation on my iPod since it dropped. I hope he spits a few bars and plays a few tracks. And I can’t forget about the hosts that have been making LA dance for 5 years and counting, Mr. Inka One, Ben Diggin, and Analog. Truly good people for keeping the scene alive in LA, and helping out with countless other events. This is going to be an amazing night, so bring your camera, dancing shoes, and all your friends. Strictly Social 4 Year Anniversary

Strictly Social is another LA staple that I’m glad is around. Neo-soul, funk, Hip Hop, world famous DJ’s, and beat makers have blessed the stage many times over. I have had the pleasure of seeing some of my friends perform. I’m glad to be celebrating Strictly Social’s 4thYear Anniversary! August 18^th is going to be a party! Nikko Gray and Def Sound are going to be in the building, and the homie Brook D’Leau (J*Dvaey) will be having his debut performance. There’s also guest selector Mic Holden. And the ones you can always count on to play great tunes: resident DJ’s Sean O , Mona Lisa, and Destroyer. Thursday, August 18^th is going to be a party!
