The tracks selected for Classic Collaboration takes me back to high school, and some even farther. This was recorded in 2006 at Stacks record shop in Ontario (Inland Empire) while the shop was still open. Classic Collaboration is one of the many projects DJ GabeReal & DJ Ethos are planning on releasing this year. Like another B+C’s hero J1, DJ Ethos & GabeReal used all vinyl to create this dope mix. I dig Classic Collaboration not only for the tracks, but some are remixes by DJ Ethos & GabeReal that are only available on this mix. Check out Classic Collaboration and download it here. BIG thanks to DJ GabeReal for the heads up.

These 2 cats outta east London tackled a big task of remixing an already bangin album and as they say “Re-Fixed” it. Common teamed up with Kanye (and a few other producers including J Dilla) to bring you Be. So you ask yourself, “what’s there to fix?! That album’s hot.” My thoughts exactly, until I got an ear full of Be…Re-Fixed. They moved a few things around, added a lil stutter-step remixing it, and still keeping that Ye & Common sound. Be…Re-Fixed is all instrument, but from what I’ve read Amede is the man with the blows. Hopefully we can check more of that that when they drop their next EP Flat17 in august! Stay tuned because I think they’ll come with the heat. Check Amede & Soundsmith on their site and download Be…Re-Fixed here. Also check out Distant at thier MySpace page. BIG thanks Amede & Soundsmith for tweetin. “We just want to make good music, whether it’s short raw beats, vocal based, down-tempo, hip hop soul or whatever it sounds like to you, to us this is Electric Soul made for you to feel and fuse with.” –Amede & Soundsmith

Although this is a bit old I can’t keep from listening to it. K-Salaam and Beatnick partnered again to remix some classic Common joints. If you haven’t heard it yet I guarantee that any Common fan will definitely feel this mixtape. Download it for free on their myspace page.
BIG thanks to K-Salaam & Beatnick for not only producing some great remixes but also posting them FO-FREE!

I was checking out Donwill’s video, and wanted to see who produced the beat on it. Astronote! Astronote has been making beats for Donwill’s other group Tanya Morgan which is coming out with their album soon. Back to Astronote, he produced a remix tape on B.I.G. called Bigger & Better (mixed by DJ Graffiti). I’ve heard some sh!t tapes on B.I.G., and this one is out right D.O.P.E. Astronote also has one on Jay-Z that I’m checking out now. In the mean time download this one from his MySpace page. It’s worth your time. BIG thanks to Moovmnt for making the link.
Check out more of Astronote on MySpace and download his remixes.

I dig the Crown City Rockers and I’m always looking for them to come out with something…anything! DJ Chorizo Funk/DJ E Be Lo is filling the gap. DJ Chorizo Funk has come out with a remix mixtape of the Crown City Rockers, and it’s real nice. He also has another mixtape that is worth checking out called Catalog is Analog v.3. BIG thanks to East of LA.com for posting that.
