Dylan Thomas and Haz Solo are funny, crazy, and dope. The have done separate projects of their own (featured on each other projects), but together are dynamic. Haz has got a hand full of albums, and yeah man I’m still rocking June Bug. Dylan Thomas dropped And It Was Good…and it was dope. That one’s in heavy rotation on my ipod. All Jokes Aside takes it to another level with these cats. Don’t Turn Around is one of the tracks that got me hooked. The whole thing is worth the buy. Check it for yourself. I first got wind of this cat Rick Hughes from the track In My City off Cali Co-op, and a few folks I’ve talked with dropped his name in conversations. But what made me really pay attention was an email I got from Camille about her post on Arize Magazine’s site. I chatted with her on twitter about it, and Camille told me she was all about getting good music heard. I was down for that, and the tracks she sent were good. Rick Hughes has worked with a gang of people from Kid Boogie to Oh On, so I’d keep a close eye on this cat. Rick, keep making moves…and rep’n the I.E.Download all 5 tracks here. Right off, WOW is a banging track! Ok to the story- Jansport J and Hawdwerk teamed up to crank out the album High Power Moves. I got the title track High Power Moves from Jansport J, and was digging it. I hit him up for some more, and he dropped Wow on me. It just keeps getting better, so you know I’m going to hit’em up again. If this is what’s to come of the rest of the album, I can’t wait. I started checking out Full Crate & FS Green with their monthly podcast. I first heard of Versis when he did Love produced by fLako. Not that long ago I got an email from this cat Versis with the track Make Me Laugh that he did with Full Crate. Versis breaks out with smooth lyrics and a raspy voice, I had a Tone Loc flashback for a minute. It was tight. I hit up Versis to ask what else he has in the works, because I was in the middle of writing a post. He told me that I might want to wait a bit for Synergy the EP (produced by Lucid) to drop. Man, good thing I did. It dropped on July 11th and I rocked Synergy for a couple of days. Versis has more projects in the works, but hopefully this will hold you until then. Download Synergy and Make Me Laugh here. Versis has a few other tracks with some top producers, so check for them. Get the info on Versis and Full Crate on their sites. My friend Alex asked me if I have ever heard of this group called CunninLynguists. I was like what are you talking about man, and he told me to check’em out. I didn’t have to do much diggin for these cats, because they recently dropped their 7th album titled Strange Journey Vol. 1. I ran across this YouTube video Never Come Down (The Brownie Song), and it had me roll’n. The lyrics are crazy and the video is a perfect match. You’ll get a kick outta it. Yep! is at it again. That cat is always on the grind. This time he’s teamed up with T.I.E. (both from the Uhh) to bring you Tomorrow, Yesterday. This dynamic duo dropped this dope single “Ladies Say,” and when I tell you it’s hot…it’s hot. From the clever lyrics to the kick back beat it will get you grooving. Yes I’ve been sleeping on this, but ears are wide open. I got an email from Dub MD Promotions and this track was in it. I replied with a thanks and will get to it. Well when I did, I was like wow that’s hot. Madlib makes some bangers, but this cat Cyrano gives a good balance to the beat.
