My man Niles is always on the grind, and one of his many projects that I’m honored to write a post on is Notes For Haiti. There are horrific events and disasters that hit home everyday, and when it passes for some, we must remember there are others still struggling through recovery and need our help. Notes For Haiti is a full length compilation with an all star cast. They not only want you to help the people of Haiti, but want you to nod your head to the beat. The Root Down knows how to bring the people out, and is always delivering the goodness. This Thursday Aloe Blacc is in the house. You may know him from Emanon (Aloe & Exile), his solo album Shine Through, or from hosting the Do-over on Sundays. Either way you’ll be glad you went.

When the Turntable Lab has another in-store, GO! It was dope. Exile got the crowd movin, then Fashawn breaks out the mic. They give everyone a greeting and bust into the tracks from the upcoming album Boy Meets World. To keep the party going Exile kicks out some crazy beats on the MPC in between tracks. They set that place ablaze. There were are handful of guest apperences by Aloe Blacc, Evidence, and Planet Asia. But the kicker was the folks in the crowd like The Alchemist, El Prez, Blu, and Iriscience. I started leaving and noticed this other cat walking to Turntable Lab and it’s Houseshoes. The place was filled with Hip Hop that night, so next time show up. Getta copy of Boy Meets World when it breaks.
