Svetnik is crazy talented.  If you don’t know who he is there was a B+C post a while back that was about his other beat tape Lo.Fi. Rocking Lo.Fi made me feel relaxed and at peace no matter what chaos was going down.  Blueprint gives you that same feeling with a nice upbeat tempo.  I was cranking out all kinds of work listening to Blueprint.  I dig the track Making Love To You because it sounds like there is a sample of one of my favorite songs; A Brighter Day by Ronnie Jordan.  Either way you’ve got to kepp an eye out for Svetnik because he drops well produced projects. If there is one producer to look out for, it’s Snowman Jack. He’s cranked out tracks for artists from Guilty Simpson to Magestik Legend.  I really got to know Snowman’s work when he did I Believe on the Starship 27 compilation, and that’s when I started digging around.  I hit Snowman up to see what he could bless B+C with, and man he dropped these joints and then some. Got an email from my man Spon letting me know that Al jaZz and him just dropped Brazillionaires.  The last project Spon put out, Buy Surprise, flexed his beat making skills, and he’s back to flex his lyrical ones.  Al jaZz and Spon linked up through a remixed track that Al jaZz did.  Shortly after that,  they started sending beats back and forth.  Most of the samples for Brazillionaires are from Brazilian tracks- hence the name.  Needs vs. Wants, & Listen and Learn are a couple of my favorite tracks, but you can ride out on the whole thing. The first project I heard from Thelonious was Fear of Flight and it was dope. I kept checking back with Thelonious, and he just cranked one beat tape out after the next. I have had the honor of doing the art for one of the many beat tapes, Big Wheels &  Gold Teeth, but also keep it in heavy rotation on my iPod. A few days ago Thelonious let me know he was getting ready to put out Life Of A Teenage Champion, and explained that he was feeling really good about this one. I was excited for him and couldn’t wait to hear the progression that Thelonious made from his first beat tape to this Life Of A Teenage Champion. I have a love-hate relationship with EP’s. When I love it, I hate waiting for the rest of the LP to come out, and Something Out Of Nothing is no different. After listening to the 8 track debut EP…a few times I was like, “When’s the LP coming?!”  SelfSays has a classic style of flow with a Detroit twist that complements the electro-sapce beats. The cover art is a trip too. Reminds me of Fly Lo’s Los Angeles. Something Out Of Nothing is a chill EP that you can easily put on repeat. I was sleeping on this one. This cat from the Netherlands has been up on B+C from day one. IllSkiz let us know he was feeling the content. Later down the road he shot us an email with some beats he made and we quickly wrote a post. If you missed the first post about IllSkiz go back and check it out. I first got wind of this cat Rick Hughes from the track In My City off Cali Co-op, and a few folks I’ve talked with dropped his name in conversations. But what made me really pay attention was an email I got from Camille about her post on Arize Magazine’s site. I chatted with her on twitter about it, and Camille told me she was all about getting good music heard. I was down for that, and the tracks she sent were good. Rick Hughes has worked with a gang of people from Kid Boogie to Oh On, so I’d keep a close eye on this cat. Rick, keep making moves…and rep’n the I.E. Download all 5 tracks here. B+C has been laying low for a while, but is running at full speed. One of the things that got us going, totally came Buy Surprise. Spon aka Sponatola hit me with this mix of beats. I started listening to it while he was giving me the back story. Spon is known for drop lyrics, but wanted to let folks know he can drop a beat too. I wasn’t familiar with Spon the rapper, but quickly got to know Spon the beat maker after playing Buy Surprise back to back several times. Buy Surprise shows the range that Spon has as a beat maker. My man Devonwho was tweeting the other day about this nice 11 track beat tape he got in an email called The Other Side Vol. 3 by this cat Weslee Connerzs. He posted up the link, and I checked it out. Now when Devonwho tweets about something he’s got, you know its gotta be good. After rocking The Other Side Vol. 3 I hit Devonwho up about getting a hold of Weslee. Yeah this is something to write home about. I didn’t get much, but this beat maker is from  Philly and has got more in the works.
