Let me start off by saying, everyone needs a Fresh Daily track or album in their collection. I would even go as far as to say his music needs to be a staple in your collection. You know you’re not going to get a bad product from Fresh Daily when he drops a new projects or a collabo track. The Brooklyn Good Guy is one to have on heavy rotation. Fresh Daily also gathered up some talented folks to join him on this project like Black Spade, Melo-X, Moruf, Doc Illingsworth, Mike Baker the Bike Maker etc. If these names aren’t familiar, please do yourself a favor and check out what they make as well. After the first go around of The Brooklyn Good Guy you’ll place it with your classics. Check out Fresh Daily – The Brooklyn Good Guy on FreshDailyMC.com and check out his previous releases. BIG thanks to Fresh Daily for keeping me in the loop.
You can’t pass up a Blu and Exile album. Separate both are dynamic, but together they make instant classics like Below The Heavens. So you know when GiveMe My Flowers While I Can Still Smell Them dropped, I had to get a copy. The vinyl album packaging looks ill and I’m thinking about picking that up as well. This track, Maybe One Day featuring Black Spade had me bee bopping down the street. I know you’ll dig the video and the album. Go buy Blu & Exile – Give Me My Flowers While I Can Still Smell Them. BIG shout to Jerome D. on this video.
Now this is what I’m talking about. There are a few artists and albums that are on my phone and never get deleted… Black Spade is one of those artists. A while back I ran into him at the LA vs. War art exhibit and we got to talking about projects. After dropping some Hawthorne Headhunters stuff, Build and Destroy, and leaked out some tracks I was ready for the next Black Spade album. Spade was like listen to Build and Destroy a little more. At that time I did not know that The Sweetest Revenge was in the works. Later Black Spade let me know when the The Sweetest Revenge was dropping, and I’ve been rocking it since. With every Black Spade project he steps it up, and if that track Billy Bad Ass doesn’t get you hooked, then I don’t know what will. The Sweetest Revenge won’t disappoint. Go get Black Spade – The Sweetest Revenge on F5 Records. BIG thanks to Black Spade for consistently making good music.

Vandalyzm’s B!%^h Im’Mis Talented is a must have! When I interviewed Black Spade a while ago, he was talking about his upcoming projects and the people he was working with. Vandalyzm’s name came up. Vandalyzm put out B!%^h Im’Mis Talented earlier this year and it’s been on heavy rotation since. Vandalyzm has put together his own tracks, tracks he’s produced and has been featured on including one my favorite tracks The Cool Out (featuring Black Spade & El Prez, produced by Black Spade). Trust me, you won’t skip a track. Download Vandalyzm – B!%^h Im’Mis Talented on Band Camp and check out his latest project The Proposal. BIG thanks to Black Spade for letting me know about this cat.

I’m a long time fan of Black Spade, so it was a really cool to get a chance to chat with him about past projects, stuff he’s working on now, and the future of Black Spade. He put out the mixtape Build and Destroy, and most recently a beat tape called The Day We Landed. I can’t stop playing either one. I met up with Black Spade at I Ced’s place when they were taking a break from working on some Hawthorne Headhunts’ tracks. I got a little insight about who Black Spade is and what his future plans are. I did learn one important lesson about doing interviews- Don’t stop recording until you leave, because we talked about everything. I know I’ll be doing another interview with him when he drops back into town. Check out Black Spade – The Day We Landed. BIG thanks Black Spade for taking the time, and making the music. Keep it going. BIG shout out to I Ced for the sound effects (ha ha) and the place.
When you’re out and about on the streets, you never know when someone is going to drop some dope tracks on you. That’s what happened to me the other day. I was kicking it at The Originators store and I spotted my man DJ Trackstar hanging out. We got to talk about projects and he dropped Rockwell Knuckles – Choose Your Own Adventure on me. I first heard about Rockwell Knuckles via a tweet about a track that Black Spade produced. Shortly after that, Build and Destroy dropped with Breakthrough featuring Rockwell Knuckles. Long story short, on my way up to the bay I had Choose Your Own Adventure in my car and played it for 3 of the 6 hours it took me to drive. As I was driving I even tweeted a thanks to Trackstar for giving me this heads up. You just have to give Choose Your Own Adventure a listen. It is dope. From the production to the clever lyrics, you’ll Choose Your Own Adventure. Download Rockwell Knuckles – Choose Your Own here. BIG thanks Trackstar for the heads up on this one.

I’ve been waiting for this since To Serve With Love. If you don’t know about Black Spade, this is a good time to be introduced to him with his new mixtape Build and Destroy. Once you cop it, I guarantee you will be digging up everything else Black Spade makes. From St. Louis, Black Spade produces banging tracks and has a flow like no other. He’s made an instant classic with To Serve With Love (get it if you don’t have it). He is a member of the super group Hawthorne Headhunters, has contributed to many projects like Starship 27 compilation, and is now here to Build and Destroy. This mixtape is filled with crazy production by Black Spade that has a hypnotic sound that you’ll be nodding your head to. Black Spade has gathered up equally dope guests from Coultrain to El Prez for this project. This is one of those times I urge you to stop reading and download Black Spade – Build and Destroy NOW! Check out Black Spade on MySpace and Twitter. BIG thanks to Black Spade for making the music, and BIG shout to Trackstar, Union LA, & Smoking Section.

The fam went all out on this one. J1 aka THE DEER got heavy hitters Max Kane & Teeko, and they killed it. I met these cats a while back and they have changed my whole outlook on live performances. It’s some other level-ish. Max & Teeko are 2/3 of F.A.M.E. (Fresh Analog Music Experience), and half of 4OneFunk. BIG shout to my man Malaguti (of F.A.M.E.). Space.Mind.Grind is Beats+Crates Radio’s latest installment. Space.Mind.Grind has tracks from JimiJames to Black Spade, so you know you have to crank up the volume on this one. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve played Space.Mind.Grind before writing this post. Download B+C Radio Episode 002: Space.Mind.Grind here. Read more for tracklist. Also check out F.A.M.E. -TruthPics. BIG thanks to Max Kane & Teeko for killing this one.
