They do a great party once a month, but when it comes to an anniversary party they really know how to do it up. December 3^rd is going to be a banger with special guest DJ Quik, and guest host M.E.D..  If you don’t know about M.E.D., his latest album Classic is the perfect introduction. It’s been on heavy rotation on my iPod since it dropped. I hope he spits a few bars and plays a few tracks. And I can’t forget about the hosts that have been making LA dance for 5 years and counting, Mr. Inka One, Ben Diggin, and Analog.  Truly good people for keeping the scene alive in LA, and helping out with countless other events.  This is going to be an amazing night, so bring your camera, dancing shoes, and all your friends. I really don’t say much about going to this event except…GO!!! If you listen to music in general, you should be there.  If you are thankful for the music J Dilla has blessed us with and everyone that he’s influenced, you should be there. Time flies when you’re having fun, and the Boombox crew must be having a helluva time! It feels like just a few months ago we were celebrating their 3rd year. This time around to help celebrate Boombox’s 4th anniversary the guest host for the evening is Shawn Jackson. Oh yes, it’s that time again.  October 2nd is going to be off the hook.  The Boombox crew has come up with some heat for this line up.  Ced No, Coultrain and Black Spade making up the incredible group the Hawthorne Headhunters.  If you don’t know them yet, this is your chance to hear their great sound.  Also keep an eye out for the Hawthorne Headhunters LP and their individual projects.  Next on the bill my man Blu and his band No York.  Blu is everywhere right now including a couple of tracks on The Roots new album.  Blu is also getting ready to drop an LP, so keep your ears open.  Show up at Boombox and catch a sneak peek  to both groups and their new joints.  Gotta love the first Saturday of every month, so get your dancing shoes, all of your friends, and head out to the Boombox.  BIG thanks to the Boombox crew Inka One, Ben Diggin, and One Man Jazz for putting on dope events.

Episode 005: Summer’s End

Mr. DJ Sean O. has blessed us with a dope episode for Beats+Crates Radio.  This episode is jammed pack with everyone from the Lootpack to Devonwho.  Summer’s End has a real chill lounge vibe, but retains some energy.  Very similar to DJ Sean O.‘s personality. You’ll never need to be in the mood to play Summer’s End because it’s right for every moment.

THIS IS A MUST…AUG. 7TH Boombox Producer Showcase Vol. 8.  I have never felt so strongly about going to an event before.  I just have to say, if you don’t go to Boombox: Producer Showcase Vol. 8 you must be trying to save your house from a fire.  The lineup the Boombox crew has put together is ridiculous.  Ras-G, 14KT, Dert, MNDSGN, F.A.M.E. and DJ sets from D-Fib & GroWeyez.  If you haven’t seen or heard about these folks google them, ask a friend, search Beats+Crates, but do what you have to do to understand this show is going to be EPIC.  BIG thanks to the Boombox crew Inka One, Ben Diggin, and One Man Jazz for putting on dope events.  And I’ll see you all there.
