Do you know who DJ Quik is? If you answered yes or no to this question, then go directly to Boombox . This Saturday December 3^rd the great folks at Boombox are having their 5^th Anniversary party. They do a great party once a month, but when it comes to an anniversary party they really know how to do it up. December 3^rd is going to be a banger with special guest DJ Quik, and guest host M.E.D.. If you don’t know about M.E.D., his latest album Classic is the perfect introduction. It’s been on heavy rotation on my iPod since it dropped. I hope he spits a few bars and plays a few tracks. And I can’t forget about the hosts that have been making LA dance for 5 years and counting, Mr. Inka One, Ben Diggin, and Analog. Truly good people for keeping the scene alive in LA, and helping out with countless other events. This is going to be an amazing night, so bring your camera, dancing shoes, and all your friends. It’s that time again! Boombox is having their producer showcase, and you know you’re going to get a great lineup. Everyone from new producers stepping out on the scene to your favorite producers will be bumping their latest project. The ambassador of Detroit Hip Hop and LA’s El Capitan on the 1′s and 2′s, House Shoes. You can always count on him to drop some exclusive stuff. Coming off the high of Sucio Smash’ Underground Selects New York’s Sucio Smash is landing in LA and going to set the turntables ablaze. Boombox: 4th Annual Celebration of J Dilla

If you are thankful for the music J Dilla has blessed us with and everyone that he’s influenced, you should be there. House Shoes, Exile, Jeremy Ellis, and the Boombox crew…you should be there. Time flies when you’re having fun, and the Boombox crew must be having a helluva time! It feels like just a few months ago we were celebrating their 3rd year. This time around to help celebrate Boombox’s 4th anniversary the guest host for the evening is Shawn Jackson. If you don’t know about Mr. Shawn Jackson check out his recent mixtape Hollywood Shuffle Side B and his LP Brand New Old Me. And guest selector Pete Rock. Do I need to say more about him? I’m sure you all know Pete Rock for one thing or another. He’ll be pulling tunes from his large library of music. It’s going to be a dope night. Oh yes, it’s that time again. October 2nd is going to be off the hook. The Boombox crew has come up with some heat for this line up. Ced No, Coultrain and Black Spade making up the incredible group the Hawthorne Headhunters. If you don’t know them yet, this is your chance to hear their great sound. Also keep an eye out for the Hawthorne Headhunters LP and their individual projects. Next on the bill my man Blu and his band No York. Blu is everywhere right now including a couple of tracks on The Roots new album. Blu is also getting ready to drop an LP, so keep your ears open. THIS IS A MUST…AUG. 7TH Boombox Producer Showcase Vol. 8. I have never felt so strongly about going to an event before. I just have to say, if you don’t go to Boombox: Producer Showcase Vol. 8 you must be trying to save your house from a fire. The lineup the Boombox crew has put together is ridiculous. Ras-G, 14KT, Dert, MNDSGN, F.A.M.E. and DJ sets from D-Fib & GroWeyez. If you haven’t seen or heard about these folks google them, ask a friend, search Beats+Crates, but do what you have to do to understand this show is going to be EPIC.
