Chanes

Right now I can’t think of a producer I’m more inspired by than Chanes. This cat is cranking out about an EP a month. Writing a post with 3 EP’s is a first for me, and well worth it. I was listening to The Fringe the other day and was like, “this music has mystic hypnotic powers to it because I can’t stop playing it.” Maybe that additional ingredient is passion, love, or determination, but whatever it is it will keep you listening. When I took off on vacation I dropped in Lifted, BCKWDS, and TRNSFXD. It put me in deep thought and was the perfect soundtrack for it. Ever since I’ve been back they are still on heavy rotation. I normally won’t try and put all this good music into one post, but the way it sounds and provokes good vibes you need this in your life. Buy these and also check out Chanes – Renegade Hands on iTunes. BIG thanks to Chanes for being consistent with that good music. This dude’s got a bright future. And another BIG thanks to My man Ben from Insect Records and House Shoes.

Chanes – Renegade Hands

So far House Shoes hasn’t steered me wrong. If you see a project that says, “House Shoes Presents,” listen to it. My man Ben from Insect Records also knows a good artist when he hears one. Chanes has been on our radar for a while and  today he has dropped Renegade Hands. The Known is my track. That gets me so hyped to get work done. I can put it on repeat for days. The beauty about Renegade Hands is the rest of it is just as dope. I don’t want to spoil it for you but this album will evoke an emotion in you that will put you at ease. A sense of bliss. Get this album, you’ll be glad you did. Pick up your copy of Chanes – Renegade Hands on Amazon. BIG thanks to my man Ben at Insect Records. And a BIG shout to Austin Texas.

The Black Opera THE MAGICIAN ft Vaughn G & Jade Lathan

Classy, TBO is one first class act. A couple of rebels here to shake up and wake up Hip Hop, and break out with this classy video. The Magician has a 1920s vibe that helps tell the story. Loving the black and white scenes, and how the whole video was shot, very cinematic. I can’t wait to see what else The Black Opera is coming with next. BIG shout to kyLA, I see you lady. Check out TBO’s video game, yes video game Monsters & Robots.

House Shoes – LET IT GO

This is truly the album everyone from Detroit to L.A. has been waiting for. House Shoes is either a marketing genius or he’s winging it, but he has built a huge following that’s been asking for this album. House Shoes dropped a few tracks over the years on several different projects like Starship 27 (vol. 1 & 2), but LET IT GO is all out nuts. You know that album where you are 9 tracks deep and you’re shocked that you are that far into it? LET IT GO is like that, but you’re on the 2nd or 3rd rotation. I was going to mention a few tracks to talk about, but I didn’t skip a track. I will mention Castles (tHE SKY IS Ours) featuring the lovely Jimetta Rose hit me hard every time. /// THE DEER /// House Shoes is dropping the video to these tracks and Time, featuring BIG Tone, is the first one out the gate. I’m sure more are coming. On a side note, buy a physical copy of LET IT GO. It not only has dope packaging design with nice photos by Eric Coleman, but it also comes with all of the instrumentals! I just realized I haven’t even talked about the who’s who on this album. You’ll discover that for yourself and you won’t be disappointed. Enough talking go buy House Shoes – LET IT GO on Amazon. BIG thanks to House Shoes for making an album that I don’t have to skip any tracks on. Keep it going brother.

The Black Opera – Villains

I didn’t know who Andy Madeleine was until I saw The Black Opera’s M.A.S.H. video. It’s a monster track with stunning visuals to match. Andy has great story telling ability with the camera, so when I got an email from Steph about The Black Opera’s Villains video, also directed by Andy Madeleine, I couldn’t wait to check it out. This is one you just have to watch. Not to give anything away, but after watching it I don’t trust kids anymore. There’s a Villain in all of us. Check out more from The Black Opera on their site and Twitter. BIG thanks Steph for the heads up.

Chanes – (iN)TANGIBLES

The good folks at (iN)SECT Records sent an email about this Detroit cat Chanes. I was digging the artwork  for (iN)TANGIBLES and gave it a spin. I rocked it for a whole day before I went back and read the email again.  Chanes has a good blend of, well a bit of everything, and there’s a couple of snippet tracks on (iN)TANGIBLES I can’t wait to here the whole thing.

“We had heard about Cameron Falsetti a.k.a. Chanes, for a while now, I think first from Detroit’s Ambassador, House Shoes, we dug a little deeper and we started to see a young man with an already prolific career. Reaching out to him to see if he would be down to give us a mix for the (iN), We were not ready for what we got, all songs produced by Chanes with 8 exclusive joints. Artwork by Mike Combs

Kid Vishis – Sick Em Vol 2: Bar 4 Bar

Yes Mr. Trackstar the DJ is cranking’em out. Mixing mixtapes, making mixtapes, and doing events this cat is every where. And when it comes to music, he knows what he’s talking about so listen closely. 4:20 is known for a few things, and now for the day Kid Vishis dropped Sick Em Vol 2: Bar 4 Bar mixed by Trackstar the DJ. Kid Vishis kills it. I don’t have to tell you where Kid Vishis is from because it’s written all over this mixtape. Sick Em Vol 2: Bar 4 Bar holds up to the quality you expect from a Detroit artist and well worth the listen. I have it on heavy rotation in the headphones. Download Kid Vishis – Sick Em Vol 2: Bar 4 Bar here. BIG Thanks to the homie Trackstar the DJ for the heads up on this one. Keep banging those mixtapes out my friend. Crown Royale

Quick note, my man Jon is working overtime to get good music out. If you see that cat in your neck of the woods, thank him. Alright, on to Crown Royale…now if you were digging that EP that dropped a little while ago, then get geared up for Crown Royale the LP. Before this album  when I thought about Crown Royal, it was about drinking. Now it’s about Partying with Buff1 and Rhettmatic with the volume past 10.  Both are very talented cats teaming up to bring you Crown Royale. Rhettmatic isn’t just dope on the 1’s and 2’s, but is also a monster on some beats. And if you haven’t heard about Buff1 you’ve been sleeping under a rock. Go grab a copy of Crown Royale on Amazon.com, or roll into your local music store and demand it. BIG thanks Jon for keeping me in the know.

Magestik Legend – The Great Escape

Magestik Legend is making The Great Escape from the norm. This cat isn’t letting anyone slow him down, and has got his eyes on the prize…success. Let me get serious with you for a moment. I just got done listening to a couple of “big” name artists that recently dropped albums, and well I could have spent my time better. To me Magestik Legend should be out there like those “big” name artists because he would do a much better job giving people quality music. With some help from Mr. Jonathan Kim, Magestik Legend will be making his way to the top real soon. Long story short Magestik Legend’s The Great Escape is a great album. Support this man and his music. Buy a copy of Magestik Legend – The Great Escape. BIG thanks Jon for the heads up.
