If there is one producer to look out for, it’s Snowman Jack. He’s cranked out tracks for artists from Guilty Simpson to Magestik Legend.  I really got to know Snowman’s work when he did I Believe on the Starship 27 compilation, and that’s when I started digging around.  I hit Snowman up to see what he could bless B+C with, and man he dropped these joints and then some. I’m rounding out the year with stuff I’ve had in heavy rotation, and now I’m bringing it to you. It’s taken me a while to write about Ro Spit’s The OH S#!T Project because I keep playing it. Best way to describe it is “…more than a mixtape, but not quite an album.” nevertheless, still a banger. Ro Spit is one you shouldn’t sleep on. The OH S#!T Project has been out for a few months, and gets better and better every time I play it. I got an email from Jon the other day with eLZHi’s latest release The Leftovers Unmixedtape, and I checked it out right away.  eLZHi’s The Leftovers is a 14 track unmixedtape of old promos and projects, but together is a banger.  The lyrics are hands down dope, and all of the producers are home run hitters. I have a love-hate relationship with EP’s. When I love it, I hate waiting for the rest of the LP to come out, and Something Out Of Nothing is no different. After listening to the 8 track debut EP…a few times I was like, “When’s the LP coming?!”  SelfSays has a classic style of flow with a Detroit twist that complements the electro-sapce beats. The cover art is a trip too. Reminds me of Fly Lo’s Los Angeles. Something Out Of Nothing is a chill EP that you can easily put on repeat. I was sleeping on this one. If you’re not familiar with DJ Buddy, he does the Mini Mix series.  B+C was the first to drop the Trek Life x DJ Buddy Mini Mix. DJ Buddy is at it again by teaming up with another of our favorite emcees Frank Nitt for L.O.V.E 4 The Streets Mixtape. Frank Nitt is always on the go, and I’m surprised he had time to crank out another project on top of his already busy schedule, but lucky for us he did. L.O.V.E 4 The Streets Mixtape is like getting a Frank Nitt’s greatest hits mixtape. I don’t think I even skipped one track. I was reading through some tweets a while back and saw that Houseshoes posted a link to Houseshoes Presents Quelle Blue Mondays. I recalled talking to Houseshoes telling me Quelle was one of the cats he was listening to. I had no idea it was at this level. Quelle doesn’t just emcee it, but produced half of the tracks on Blue Monday with a select few producers.  Blue Monday is a good listen… even on Mondays. Please take note, the bar has been set high…because of this cat Magestik Legend. I can’t recall how it went down, but Kyla opened up my ears to Magestik Legend. I downloaded Free the night before, and my first thought was I’m too swapped to through something else on the ipod. I did it anyways and good thing too. On my way home I played Free, and my pace got faster. Had to get home and post this. Each track hit hard if not harder then previous one. Besides Magestik Legend producing tracks, I also saw Snowman Jack on there. The track In N Out that he produced had to be a banger, and it is.
