Magestik Legend – To Be Continued …Chapter 1

Magestik Legend doesn’t disappoint, and he brings the heat once again with To Be Continued… Chapter 1. I played To Be Continued from beginning to end, and had the volume cranked up. I thought Magestik Legend was dope when he dropped FREE, but he kills it on this one. Bout Freedom (produced by Astronote) gets you geared up to walk a little harder, head nodding , hands waving.. good time. To Be Continued is hosted by T3 of Slum Village and has guest appearances by Marv Won, Ro Spit, Othello, and Buff1 gives a shout out. Part 1: The Mayor of Detroit Hip Hop, an L.A. staple, producer, DJ, pop to lil House Shoes, and all around good dude… House Shoes. He has worked with everyone from Detroit to LA, and gone around the world several times. Recently House Shoes hooked up with All City Records (from Dublin) for their 4th installment to their L.A. Other other day I was checking out what was new on Mint Collective’s site and ran across The Roots – Dilla Joints. The Roots is one of my favorite band and J Dilla tracks, I can play all day. Put them together and you got The Roots – Dilla Joints. To top it off it’s FREE. Are you kidding me?! I would have bought this. There is also the track Antiquity with The Miguel Atwood-Ferguson Dillchestra. There is this Dilla track called Hall & Oats that ended up on Dynas’ album called The Apartment (also album title). When Danny Brown gets on the mic, it’s a bomb of energy that blows up the place. If you were rocking Danny Brown’s Hot Soup, you’ll burn up an ipod playing Detroit State Of Mind 4. I have to say it over and over until someone gets it right, but when House Shoes drops what he’s listening to… YOU LISTEN. House Shoes was talking about Danny Brown and Hot Soup, that’s when I got on. Danny Brown brings this hardness that makes you want to get up and dare someone to mess you with. Yes, drive with Detroit State Of Mind 4 on and you might get a speeding ticket. I’ve been close. And that track Contra… I don’t care how many times that gets on a mixtape…It’s dope every time. Deep is a banging track and now there’s a video?! Who needs a music video channel. I was really digging the intro to the track. The colors were busted up in some scenes which gave it a cinematic feel. eLZhi’s The Leftovers Unmixedtape is a must have with a gang of dope tracks. Oh yeah Inka One and the Boombox crew are at it again. They are always bringing in top notch acts. This coming February 6th Boombox is celebrating the life & music of Detroit’s finest, J Dilla. Guest Selector is House Shoes, so you know your going to get some dope stuff and exclusives dropped on you. On the MPC with a live tribute is Jeremy Ellis. If there is one producer to look out for, it’s Snowman Jack. He’s cranked out tracks for artists from Guilty Simpson to Magestik Legend. I really got to know Snowman’s work when he did I Believe on the Starship 27 compilation, and that’s when I started digging around. I hit Snowman up to see what he could bless B+C with, and man he dropped these joints and then some. Now these are only the ones that I can share with you; Snowman also let me peep out a few more tracks that are for 2010. Let me just say…FIRE!!! Best way to describe it is “…more than a mixtape, but not quite an album.” nevertheless, still a banger. Ro Spit is one you shouldn’t sleep on.
