I first heard of Buff1 years ago from my friend Dahlia when he dropped Pure. Moving Along (ft. Tiffany Page) & For U were my joints. From then until now he’s dropped many joints, featured on ton’s of tracks, and joined forces with many heavy hitters like Rhettmatic (Crown Royale). It’s A 1derful Life is a rundown of some projects and features that Buff1 has done, and it’s hosted by DJ Rhettmatic. It’s A 1derful Life is filled with high energy tunes that will make you dance. In an earlier B+C post, the great folks at A Side Worldwide let us know this was coming, and it’s been in heavy rotation since. Download Buff1 – It’s A 1derful Life here. Buff1, Shawn Jackson & Diz Gibran – The Best Are Full Of Love
- If you haven’t caught up to Buff1, it’s because he’s busy cranking out projects like Crown Royale, Athletic Mic League (AML), and not to mention his solo projects but he still finds time to drop in on a show or 2. This track, Original by the Space Invadas, features Buff1 & RuC.L and will also be featured on Buff’’s upcoming project It’s A 1derful Life (drops Dec 2…Buff’s B-Day). The great folks at A-Side Worldwide have been dropping sneak peeks of Buff1’s projects like The Shift (track below). I’m still not sure what project that ones coming from, but I’m sure it’ll be cool. It’s A 1derful Life got folks from Rhettmatic to Cook Classics doing production on it (click the cover for track list). So keep your eyes and ears open on December 2!!! This is Beats+Crates 100th post and it’s only fitting that it is for a special event, Jay $tay Paid. Please take the time to read about Ma Dukes battle with Dilla’s legacy and her health. If you still haven’t discovered the genius of J Dilla, think of your favorite artist, and Dilla has most likely done a track for/with them. Come out and show your support to Dilla (G.O.A.T.). This Saturday – MAY 9th
Ok I know as much as you do…maybe a little more. There’s a party going down this Saturday in L.A. that has a cool DJ line up. Byze, Mr. Choc, Mona Lisa, Coleman, Rhettmatic, and Mr. Hawkins. You have to email (the one below) a person to get a password and the directions to get in.
Saturday May 9th
starts 10pm, $7 before 12am and $10 after, 21+ (so don’t try and bring yo kids)

I haven’t been to the Root Down in a long time. I think I’ma hit this one up. This Thursday DJ Rhettmatic & Buff 1 are going to be rockin the house. FYI starting MAY 7th the Root Down will have a new home at El Cid, so check this show fo-sho!

Stuff to do in LA is always a good time so check this event out: The World Famous Beat Junkies and special guest Pete Rock at the Echoplex! If you’ve been living under a rock and don’t know who any of these people are, you really don’t need to go. For everyone else, this show is going to be dope. Gotta love Grand Star Jazz Club, they always have something good going down. BOOMBOX is bringin it this Saturday (4/4) with a great lineup of DJ’s and guests. DJ Rhettmatic, Frank Nitt, Soups, LowKey, and the talented resident DJs. Anytime I head to Grand Star I always have good time and meet cool folks. Check it out this Saturday.
