Tiger Tsunami – Re:Antarctica EP

Tiger Tsunami - Re:Antarctica EPDiscovering gems like this EP is one of the reasons I keep doing what I’m doing without getting paid. I was going about my day and listening to stuff on Sound Cloud. Checking out all kinds of tracks and just exploring. About 10 tracks later I ran across Tiger Tsunami and the artwork to Re: Antarctica EP. “Dope cover and interesting group name, let me check this out.” First track ,Antarctica, “where can I get this?!?” I left it playing as I checked out Tiger Tsunami’s Sound Cloud profile page. Clicking every link they had on it. Waves,“where’s the download button?” I was reading the tags they labeled their music; ambient electronic, future bass, post-dubstep, and couldn’t think of a better way to describe it. I love love love the Re: Antarctica EP, and can’t wait until they drop more music. Download Tiger Tsunami - Re:Antarctica EP on Band Camp. BIG thanks Tiger Tsunami for making great music.

Fresh Daily – The Brooklyn Good Guy

Let me start off by saying, everyone needs a Fresh Daily track or album in their collection. I would even go as far as to say his music needs to be a staple in your collection. You know you’re not going to get a bad product from Fresh Daily when he drops a new projects or a collabo track. The Brooklyn Good Guy is one to have on heavy rotation. Fresh Daily also gathered up some talented folks to join him on this project like Black Spade, Melo-X, Moruf, Doc Illingsworth, Mike Baker the Bike Maker etc. If these names aren’t familiar, please do yourself a favor and check out what they make as well. After the first go around of The Brooklyn Good Guy you’ll place it with your classics. Check out Fresh Daily – The Brooklyn Good Guy on FreshDailyMC.com and check out his previous releases.  BIG thanks to Fresh Daily for keeping me in the loop.

Tres Records – Nueve

Nueve

Does Tres know how to put out a beat tape or what?!? This is one of those sneaky sneak attacks on your ear drums. A heavily independent hip hop label cranks out a beat tape, Nueve, showcasing damn near an evil genius lineup. I’m not going to name names, but it will fry your brain. Nueve is one of those albums where I saw the album artwork first and said, “hmmm what’s this?” Nueve had me motivated and bebopping around the office. Tres is not one you should be sleeping on. They are cranking out the albums. I’ve got another Tres release, Fonetik Simbol – Super Chop Beat Tape, next in the headphones. Download Tres Records 9th Anniversary beat tape on TresRecords.com. BIG shout to the good folks at Tres for keeping me up to par.

Azizi Gibson x Jeremiah Jae – Ignorant Prayers

Ignorant Prayers is the injection hip-hop needs. These beats are ridiculous. Jeremiah Jae is a monster at this production shit. When I was listening to Ignorant Prayers and thinking, “what will Gibson not say?” I am grossly attracted to this album and listen to it at least once a week. The hook on Windows is catchy, but you think twice about singing it out loud. Fishscale has that hypnotic beat that you played over and over again. Each track is an entertaining ridiculous short story. Ignorant Prayers is a banging project you need to check, and this sh!t is free. Download Azizi Gibson x Jeremiah Jae – Ignorant Prayers on Brainfeeder.

EL PREZ – Leadersh!t

I can’t explain Leadersh!t like EL PREZ. The concept is motivating, the music is dope, and EL PREZ keeps bringing it. Really get down with this Leadsh!t movement or you’ll just be another follower. Support my dude EL PREZ and buy a copy of El Prez – Leadersh!t on iTunes. BIG thanks EL PREZ  keep doing what you’re doing.

L!STED – The Crystal Ship

Let me sum it up. Seven Dayis a dynamic duo made up of Jay Diction and L!STED. Very talented cats that keep coming with good music. L!STED is bringing The Crystal Ship to your ears. Beat after beat, I just keep asking myself, “how come folks ain’t up on this cat?”  Well no worries and hopefully this will shine some light on them. L!STED is coming hard one beat at a time on The Crystal Ship, and he gives you eight tracks of head nodding. Nothing else left to say, but get this and turn up the volume. Download L!STED – The Crystal Ship on Band Camp. BIG thanks L!STED for making dope beats. Keep it going brotha.

Us Natives – Used Vinyl Review

Sometimes I download tons of stuff and drop it on the iPod. Last weekend I did just that and loaded up some new stuff. I took a drive the other day and thumbed through some stuff and landed on Us Natives’ Used Vinyl Review.  My drive got a little long and I played it again and again. Just left it on repeat. I was driving by the ocean on PCH and Royal came on. I had the windows down and cranked up the volume. It was a good drive. Used Vinyl Review just made that day a little more brighter with each track. BIG thanks Ill Clinton for this pretty ill instrumentals album.

HawdWerk – Call In Sick

Checking my emails late at night like usual, and got one from the good folks at Cov Original Music. That first track, The Real, is a banger. After that I just kept it going. Before I knew it I had listened to the whole thing. HawdWerk keep doing what you’re doing brother. Check out HawdWerk at Blue Collar WERK. BIG thanks to Cov Original Music for the heads up.

EOM – Further

The good folks at Knock Study/ Knock Steady let me know their good friend EOM, Elements Of Music, dropped an instrumental that I would dig. After listening to some Duke Westlake I figured some good things were coming from that camp. Elements Of Music’s album Further is a well composed collective of sounds that makes great music. There are a few samples in there that you might recognize, but the way that EOM uses them almost makes you forget that they are samples. Further is such a hefty album of tracks that you’ll find something in it to bump for sure. Buy Elements Of Music – Further on Band Camp. BIG thanks Deeana for the heads up.
