I’ll tell you, my man Greg the Dude knows just about everyone. I was at Greg’s spot for a party and was talking to this one cat Dobrega about some music. He told me a little about a project he was working on and would keep me posted. I didn’t hear from him for a while and ran into him at the Hit+Run show. We had another great convo about art and some music. Later that week Dobrega shot me a link of his finished project, The Rebuild EP. Now I’m always trying to multitask, but when this crazy 8-bit sound hit the headphones I was like what’s going on. Sounded like Zelda, but then a nice rhythm creeps in. It was so hypnotizing I totally forgot that the 8-bit sound was in there. Freedom Dance damn near made me forget I had other work to do. That first go-round of The Build EP got my full attention… so I played it again. I really dig the layering of sounds on this EP. What did I just see?!? I’m not sure, but I know I have to watch it again. This video is crazy! Visually you can’t touch it with a 10-foot pole, and the track(s) are dope. My man Greg “The Dude” does great videos, but this is one side we don’t ever see often. He’s a motion graphics mad man. Not only giving you this graphic controlled chaos, but uses all 3 remixes of Exile’sPopulation Control (from the AM/FM album) in the video. DJ Sean O. was talking about this video for a while, and I can see why. Greg is pushing that bar higher folks, so keep those ideas pop’n. CAPTURED: U, Me & Hip Hop is a group photo exhibit of captured moments in Hip Hop. Cognito, Jewell, B+, BRASS, Coleman, Jay Three & Mike Park are just some of the featured photographers. In addition to photos, music video director Jerome D will be projecting his music videos. On the 1′s and 2′s with DJ Sean O, J-Heart, & J1 aka THE DEER with special guest. Boy Meets World is what you call an instant classic, without a doubt. Fashawn put out One Shot One Kill and I couldn’t stop rocking that. It was in heavy rotation on my iPod. Boy Meets World was going to drop a few months later, but I didn’t have to wait that long. Fashawn and The Alchemist put out The Antidote which is also dope. Boy Meets World was produced by the one and only Exile. From Dirty Science to Below the Heavens you can’t stop him. Even if you haven’t heard of Fashawn (…yet), you can’t pass up another Exile banger. Boy Meets World is a must have, so GO BUY IT! BIG thanks Fashawn & Exile for making dope music.
