You know that album where on the first track you crank up the volume in the car or your headphones? Skeme’sPistols and Palm Trees is that album. It was released like a minute ago, and I crank it up every chance I get. If this album came with instructions it would say something like, “House party, backyard barbecue, riding around town… Just push play.” One night I was strolling around downtown rocking Pistols and Palm Trees, and LA Night featuring Dom Kennedy just happened to come on. El Prez is a Los Angeles staple like the Lakers and In-N-Out. It shouldn’t be a surprise that El Prez’s title Animal Style! and cover art have that In-N-Out look. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. What does surprise me is that he can crank out projects, and be everywhere at once! For reals. I’ve seen him at several events, he’s mentioned on every blog (check the interview on LA Stereo), updates his tumblr site, and tweets throughout the day. I’d call him a super emcee.
