One of my favorite LA events is coming around again…BOOMBOX! Great music, cool people, and most of the time your favorite artist drops in. The Boombox crew always brings in some top talent and this March 6th is no different. Guest DJs for the evening will be DJ Revolution from The Wake Up Show and DJ Adam 12 from She Wants Revenge. And always on deck at Boombox are Inka One, Ben Diggin, and One Man Jazz. Come on out and enjoy the good vibes.

Oh yeah Inka One and the Boombox crew are at it again. They are always bringing in top notch acts. This coming February 6thBoombox is celebrating the life & music of Detroit’s finest, J Dilla. Guest Selector is House Shoes, so you know your going to get some dope stuff and exclusives dropped on you. On the MPC with a live tribute is Jeremy Ellis. If you haven’t seen this cat, you haven’t seen nothing yet. And your host for the evening, is the one and only Frank Nitt. Detroit is in the house. This is going to be a night not to miss. I can’t forget the resident DJ’s Inka One, Ben Diggin, and One Man Jazz bringing you that feel good music. Come on down to Grand Star and get a dose of the music you need.

19 tracks of Hip Hop goodness. A while back E Reece shot me an email with a few tracks from Art & Commerce The Mixtape before it dropped, so I had an idea of what I was in store for. If you know or have met Chuck Chilla, just add producer to his many credits. He contributed some tracks on Art & Commerce The Mixtape. I flipped out when I saw “mixed by Inka One” on the cover art of Art & Commerce the mixtape. If you have been to Boombox (at Grand Star), then you know about Inka One. Boombox is back in action. Kicking off 2010 with a dope start and your favorite DJ’s. Inka One, Ben Diggin, & One Man Jazz are going to be spinning the stuff you love, and the stuff you haven’t heard yet. Los Angeles, stand up for my man Inka One. Because of this cat, Boombox is one of the dopest events in L.A. With top notch artists dropping in and album release parties Boombox is a must go event. So head to Grand Star on December 5th to celebrate Boombox Three Year Anniversary with Inka One, Ben Diggin, & One Man Jazz. In the beat lounge Frank(E), Bency, and special guest DJ set by Talib Kweli. I suggest you folks get your best dancing shoes and show up early. There will be some giveaways and of course good music. Once again gearing up for Boombox, and the line up is crazy. Boombox is having their Producer Showcase (vol. 6) with some heavy hits that are making BIG waves. We got Proh Mic from the Hawthorne Headhunters, TOKiMONSTA from Brainfeeder, Devonwho rep’n Klipmode, & Snowman (Jack) who’s out right dope in my book. I don’t think i have to say much about this. GO! My man Inka One is putting on another dope event at Boombox. Shafiq Husayn (Sa-Ra Creative Partners) is having an album release party for his new album Shafiq En’ A-Free-Ka that drops October 6th. It’s going to be HOT! there will be special guest DJ sets & performances by Shafiq Husayn & Om’mas Keith (Sa-Ra Creative Partners/Plug Research). Guest host for the evening is Jneiro Jarel (Dr. WhoDat | Label Who). And always on deck Boombox resident DJs Inka One, Ben Diggin, One Man Jazz and visuals by MCSTUDIOART.LA. There will be drink specials til 11pm, so come on out. This is going to be the party that don’t stop!

Starship 27 took off with no delay on Saturday. The listening party was held at Fatbeats (LA) and hosted by Houseshoes. There were performances by Snowman Jack, F.A.M.E. (Teeko, Max Kane, & Ivan), and Dibia$e. The party didn’t stop there. On to BOOMBOX!!! Boombox is coordinated by the one and only Inka One. Oddisee hosted the event for the evening with special guest with flows Trek Life. There were DJ sets by J1 aka The DEER, HouseShoes, Inka One, One Man Jazz, DJ Sean O, & GroWeyez. With all that talent you think it would be enough, nope. They also had beat sets by F.A.M.E. & Dibia$e. And you know Dam Funk did a little of everything. It was dope. Everyone stayed until Grand Star was closed. It was a great night. Just watch the videos!

THIS IS THE EVENT TO BE AT!!!! For reals. Mark September 5th on your calendars now. The main event is going to be kicked off at Fatbeats to rock the compilation Starship 27. There will be featured DJ sets by J1 aka The DEER & Houseshoes. Live beat set by Dibia$e & Snowman Jack (Devonwho hope you can make it), and another DJ set by Teeko & Max Kane. They are giving out free Starship 27 copies to the first 50 people! And of course free beer and lots of Fatbeats merchandise to check out. It’s going to be a packed house, but the party don’t stop there.
BOOMBOX is hosting the Starship 27 album release party. Boombox usually throws banging events anyways, but they are making this extra special with the lineup they got. Dam Funk, Houseshoes, J1, and hosted by Oddisee! Can you say off the HOOK?! Just check the flyer for the rest of the dope cats. To top it off they are going to have some crazy visuals by my man Moonsatellite. Not much else to say but GO!
