My man Trek Life is not playing. This is the Year of the Trek, and with his latest album, Everything Changed Nothing, there is no questions about that. I heard So Supreme from ESPN, and a few other tracks here and there. The day the album hit stores Trek’s in-store at Fat Beats, I bought the album right then and there. On Everything Changed Nothing Trek teamed up with super producer Oddisee to bring you this heavy hitting, west coast inspired album. I’ve had it in heavy rotation since. To me, Everything Changed Nothing is an uplifting, inspiring, and a motivating album. Due West, Wow, & So LA will make you get up and move. Trust me, you’ll have it in heavy rotation soon enough. Buy Trek Life – Everything Changed Nothing at Fat Beats or your local record store. BIG thanks Trek Life & Oddisee for making a great album, and BIG shout to DJ Buddy and J. Bizness.

I was checking the updates on my man Trek Life’s site, and ran across the name Richard Wright. I recalled the name from checking Brick To Ya Face, Curtiss King’s BIG Drums Come Knockin mixtape, and Trek Life & J Bizness Rhymes Within Reason. I had to check out #randommixtape4.0, and if Trek is talking about it…you NEED to check it out. Richard Wright has dropped 4, yes 4 #randommixtapes, and has appeared on a gang of other tracks. His sound is infectious and if you haven’t seen this cat in your town performing…you will. Download Richards Wright – # RandomMixtape4.0 from BandCamp. BIG thanks Trek for being the dope taste maker you are. And I’ll be looking for that next Trek Life project to drop.

Trek Life is a man on a mission. Touring Europe, doing shows on both coasts, dropping projects in between, and still making time to drop in at an in-store. Recently Trek teamed up with J. Bizness to bring you Rhymes Within Reason. This 10 track EP is produced by J. Bizness and with Trek on the mic, you can’t go wrong. There’s a handfull of special guest appearances by Oddisee, Ragen Fykes, and DJ Buddy making Rhymes Within Reason ON FIRE! Rhymes Within Reason is one of 3 projects that Trek is dropping this year, so keep your eyes & ears open! Also keep them open for my man J. Bizness as he’s always cranking out beats. You can’t sleep on that cat. Best way is to follow J. Bizness is on twitter to get a play by play. Download Trek Life & J. Bizness – Rhymes Within Reason on BandCamp. BIG thanks Trek for the heads up & J. Bizness for rep’n the I.E.!

Tomorrow, Yesterday (T.I.E. & Yep) are bringing it to you on a regular with their latest release Making the Fans Pt. 1. A while back I got their first single Ladies Say and rocked that for a long time. It was also featured on the Cali Co-Op Vol. 1 Mixtape, so you know I was pumped to get Making the Fans Pt. 1. It also helps that Tomorrow, Yesterday is from Riverside. J. Bizness, Namebrand, & Rhap V. are just a few of the talent they got mixed up in this project. It is feel good, party, play it with your mom in the car Hip Hop. You gotta love that. Download Tomorrow, Yesterday’s Making the Fans Pt. 1 on Band Camp. Also check out Tomorrow, Yesterday on MySpace. BIG thanks Yep, you cats are making the I.E. proud.

J. Bizness dropped Reason Beats & Pieces a while back and it was something to rock to. You can’t go too long without hearing a J. Bizness beat, he’s everywhere. J. Bizness teams up with Ayiro, another dope beat maker, for Cali Fire Commission. Earlier I was going through downtown L.A. and the tracks fit the mood. It was a cinematic moment. A few days ago I was talking with J. Bizness on twitter about the tracks I was digging, but you can rock the whole thing and won’t be disappointed. Don’t sleep on this one people. Download Cali Fire Commisson Vol. 1 on bandcamp.com. For more info on J. Bizness & Ayiro check them out on MySpace. BIG thanks J. Bizness for the low down.

The fam Infinite Cycle had this crazy idea and ran with it. He kicked it around with some A 1 cats, J Buziness & DJ Gade Real and they were down from the word go. Now understand Infinite Cycle is in Sacramento, J Buziness & DJ Gade Real in the I.E., so face time ain’t the easiest. They managed the whole project through phone calls, Twitter, emails, and file sharing host. You gotta love technology.
“From something that started out as a discussion about not having enough unity in music to having a mixtape out in about a month shows how much a small idea can be brought into fruition by a little dedication and hard work. After all of the scrambling and deadlines, the Cali Co-op Vol. 1 mixtape was formed and what we have here is only some of California’s finest talent in one package, mixed by DJ Gabe Real.” –Infinite Cycle
