I’ve seen the name Skeem Price pop up on several projects like Trek Life’sEverything Changed Nothing, Richard Wright’s#ramdommixtape 4.0, and then on some Black Cloud projects. He’s dealing with some good people, so I had to keep an eye out for this cat. I ran into Skeem Price at the Little Temple Bar, and he mentioned his mixtape was getting ready hit and to keep an eye out for it. I don’t have much to say about Skeem Price’sHazard Mixtape except GET IT! If this is a glimpse into what’s to come, you need to put Skeem Price high on your list. Gats & Pounds featuring Richard Wright is a banger, and that beat J. Bizness got on Star Struck… ridiculous. I won’t steer you wrong with this one. Download Skeem Price – Hazard Mixtape on Band Camp. BIG thanks to Skeem Price for the heads up. Big shout to DJ Buddy cutting it up & the host Chuck Dizzle.

I am here to tell you, this Richard Wright is that next cat. I’m not going to tell you what I know about Mary Jane, but you don’t have to be with MJ to know this is dope. This joint was first featured on Richard Wright’s#Randommixtape1.0 and now has dropped a digital 12” and video. It comes with an A Capella version, but I can’t see how you would make this joint better. Bombay kills this track and director Alex G hits the visuals. Download Richard Wright – Marry Mary Jane on Band Camp. I do have to give a BIG thanks to my man Trek Life for introducing me to Richard’s music. Click here for the Vimeo link.

This little collabo joint hit the twitternet to spice up your favorite DJ’s set list for tonight. In fact, it’s so good, and I don’t want it to be slept on, that I’m now hitting the real talk button. ** If you’re not up on Richard Wright, Belvi, Captain & J Bizness and you reside in the 909, 951, 626, 714, 949, 562, 323, 310, 213, 818 (including the overlay area codes that I just don’t know off the top of my head) – how strong is your iTunes collection really? Step your playlist game up!**
Give Creepers a few spins and save Thriller for the next man. Your ears will thank you, in French.

My man Trek Life is not playing. This is the Year of the Trek, and with his latest album, Everything Changed Nothing, there is no questions about that. I heard So Supreme from ESPN, and a few other tracks here and there. The day the album hit stores Trek’s in-store at Fat Beats, I bought the album right then and there. On Everything Changed Nothing Trek teamed up with super producer Oddisee to bring you this heavy hitting, west coast inspired album. I’ve had it in heavy rotation since. To me, Everything Changed Nothing is an uplifting, inspiring, and a motivating album. Due West, Wow, & So LA will make you get up and move. Trust me, you’ll have it in heavy rotation soon enough. Buy Trek Life – Everything Changed Nothing at Fat Beats or your local record store. BIG thanks Trek Life & Oddisee for making a great album, and BIG shout to DJ Buddy and J. Bizness.

I gotta apologize for the delay on getting the word out on this month’s Boombox. It’s going to bean absolute must see, event! First off, let me give BIG thanks to Inka One, Ben Diggin, and One Man Jazz for making Boombox a staple in L.A. Second, the folks at Boombox know how to bring in the heavy hitters. The line-up is sick… Exile, Oddisee, Samiyam, & J. Bizness. You think you’ve got better plans, yeah right. Trust me, you’ll want to go to this one. So, unless you’re going to Timeless, Boombox is going to be the spot. See you all there.

Trek Life is a man on a mission. Touring Europe, doing shows on both coasts, dropping projects in between, and still making time to drop in at an in-store. Recently Trek teamed up with J. Bizness to bring you Rhymes Within Reason. This 10 track EP is produced by J. Bizness and with Trek on the mic, you can’t go wrong. There’s a handfull of special guest appearances by Oddisee, Ragen Fykes, and DJ Buddy making Rhymes Within Reason ON FIRE! Rhymes Within Reason is one of 3 projects that Trek is dropping this year, so keep your eyes & ears open! Also keep them open for my man J. Bizness as he’s always cranking out beats. Tomorrow, Yesterday (T.I.E. & Yep) are bringing it to you on a regular with their latest release Making the Fans Pt. 1. A while back I got their first single Ladies Say and rocked that for a long time. It was also featured on the Cali Co-Op Vol. 1 Mixtape, so you know I was pumped to get Making the Fans Pt. 1. It also helps that Tomorrow, Yesterday is from Riverside. J. Bizness, Namebrand, & Rhap V. are just a few of the talent they got mixed up in this project. It is feel good, party, play it with your mom in the car Hip Hop. You gotta love that. Download Tomorrow, Yesterday’s Making the Fans Pt. 1 on Band Camp. Also check out Tomorrow, Yesterday on MySpace. BIG thanks Yep, you cats are making the I.E. proud.

J. Bizness dropped Reason Beats & Pieces a while back and it was something to rock to. You can’t go too long without hearing a J. Bizness beat, he’s everywhere. J. Bizness teams up with Ayiro, another dope beat maker, for Cali Fire Commission. Earlier I was going through downtown L.A. and the tracks fit the mood. It was a cinematic moment. A few days ago I was talking with J. Bizness on twitter about the tracks I was digging, but you can rock the whole thing and won’t be disappointed. Don’t sleep on this one people. Download Cali Fire Commisson Vol. 1 on bandcamp.com. For more info on J. Bizness & Ayiro check them out on MySpace. BIG thanks J. Bizness for the low down.
