Jerome D. is starting be a regular on B+C for sure. He’s cranking out dope videos that clearly are coming into a style of his own. The Journey (4U), shot in black and white, is Jerome D.’s second video with Versis. On a side note The Journey (4U) was produced by my man Dibiase, who makes crazy beats. Versis takes you on his journey through life. From “the man” holding him down to hard times with the family, he still has a positive outlook. Versis is always on the go and making moves. After dropping illcandescent he hooked up with Jerome D. to create The Need video. Jerome D. has a style about his videos that draws you in. He also has a way of giving you a big story in a short amount of time. The combination of Versis and Jerome D., makes The Need dope. When Exile released Radio, I ran out to get it. Radio is back and titled AM/FM. Every track is remixed or features a guest vocalist, you can’t go wrong with an Exile project. Your Summer Song, a remix featuring J. Mitchell, adds to how dope this track is. Music video director Jerome D. takes the track to a visual level that I wasn’t expecting. A nice country side drive in a Chevy Impala with 4 different versions of J. Mitchell, while Exile is wandering through the brush switching stations on his radio, you’ll be hooked watching it again and again. Jerome D. does a great job visually representing a retro radio feel with the color section, screen distortion, and yes a retro radio. CAPTURED: U, Me & Hip Hop is a group photo exhibit of captured moments in Hip Hop. Cognito, Jewell, B+, BRASS, Coleman, Jay Three & Mike Park are just some of the featured photographers. In addition to photos, music video director Jerome D will be projecting his music videos. On the 1′s and 2′s with DJ Sean O, J-Heart, & J1 aka THE DEER with special guest. It’s definitely a do not miss event! The opening reception is on Saturday, June 5th from 6pm – 11pm. Kendrick Lamar (EP) is another one I’ve had in heavy rotation on the ipod. Is It Love is the track that pulls you in. There’s a lot of good stuff coming from the West, and Kendrick Lamar is adding to the count. Keep killin ‘em. The first time I heard of Jerome D was when he shot that Carter Video, and I knew it wasn’t going to be the last time. Kendrick Lamar’s She Needs Me is another dope video from his latest projects. I got up one Sunday afternoon, and wanted to go check out the sights. I headed straight to the HVW8 spot off Melrose. I met Ty G, real cool cat and down to earth. We talked a little art and then hip hop. Now you gotta understand where the HVW8 gallery is, everyone hanging out on Melrose passes by that joint. So we stepped out in front of the store, and who do we see getting filmed…Carter. Man it was like getting a live show fo-free. But to make a long story short, the HVW8 gallery is one of the locations this video was shot at. “It was a good day.” – Ice Cube. On a sidenote Jerome D is making big moves.
