I’ve been waiting for this since To Serve With Love.  If you don’t know about Black Spade, this is a good time to be introduced to him with his new mixtape Build and Destroy. Once you cop it, I guarantee you will be digging up everything else Black Spade makes. From St. Louis, Black Spade produces banging tracks and has a flow like no other. He’s made an instant classic with To Serve With Love (get it if you don’t have it). He is a member of the super group Hawthorne Headhunters, has contributed to many projects like Starship 27 compilation, and is now here to Build and Destroy. This mixtape is filled with crazy production by Black Spade that has a hypnotic sound that you’ll be nodding your head to.  Black Spade has gathered up equally dope guests from Coultrain to El Prez for this project.  This is one of those times I urge you to stop reading and download Black Spade – Build and Destroy NOW! Check out Black Spade on MySpace and Twitter. BIG thanks to Black Spade for making the music, and BIG shout to Trackstar, Union LA, & Smoking Section.

The first time I heard the track Please Tip Your Driver, I played it over and over. Shortly after, I hit up Red Pill and wanted to get the low down on the track. It’s the first single from his album with the same title. At the time when I first heard it, the album Please Tip Your Driver, didn’t have a release date, and a few months later it is here! I have to tell you Please Tip Your Driver is a MUST have. Dead End Road, I Understand, YouCanMakeLifeCanMakeYou every track is like a short story that you can relate to. I don’t know what else Red Pill’s got in the works, but he’s one to look for.Download Red Pill – Please Tip Your Driver from his site. BIG thanks to Red Pill for making real hip hop. Keep doing you.

I have a love-hate relationship with EP’s. When I love it, I hate waiting for the rest of the LP to come out, and Something Out Of Nothing is no different. After listening to the 8 track debut EP…a few times I was like, “When’s the LP coming?!”  SelfSays has a classic style of flow with a Detroit twist that complements the electro-sapce beats. The cover art is a trip too. Reminds me of Fly Lo’s Los Angeles. Something Out Of Nothing is a chill EP that you can easily put on repeat. I was sleeping on this one. SelfSays dropped Something Out Of Nothing in February, but I’m awake now. Download SelfSays Something Out Of Nothing on Bandcamp. Also check out SelfSays on MySpace and Twitter. BIG thanks SelfSays for keeping it fresh.

Please take note, the bar has been set high…because of this cat Magestik Legend. I can’t recall how it went down, but Kyla opened up my ears to Magestik Legend. I downloaded Free the night before, and my first thought was I’m too swapped to through something else on the ipod. I did it anyways and good thing too. On my way home I played Free, and my pace got faster. Had to get home and post this. Each track hit hard if not harder then previous one. Besides Magestik Legend producing tracks, I also saw Snowman Jack on there. The track In N Out that he produced had to be a banger, and it is.
“The FREE Project is dedicated to giving back to those who have supported his release since day one.” (excerpt from bio). If you’re not a fan yet, you will be. Download Magestik Legend – Free here. Also check out Magestik Legend on MySpace and Twitter. BIG thanks Kyla for keeping my ears open. LOL

Know:Juander kills this album. If I had a rating system, A Kid Love:Beat would get 5 outta 5 mics. I like to take my time to digest an album, but this one I got it from the word go. From the proper production to the ill lyrics I was so blown away. I got a hold of Know:Juander to let him know how ill A Kid Love:Beta is and asked him a couple of questions. I wanted to know how was all worked on the the production, but it was all him. I mean crazy isn’t?! The cats got flows and cranks out the beats. If you’re looking for an album that ever tracks is hot…this is it. Download A Kid Love:Beta here. Check out what else Know:Juander is up to on MySpace and Twitter. BIG thanks Know:Juander for bringing it on this one.

Let me start off with HAZ SOLO is a triple threat waiting to make a home in your speakers. Producer: On “June Bug” this cat makes the craziest beats I have ever heard. At first I totally didn’t get it. I was ready to pass it up, but I’ve seen this dude on twitter everyday putting in work. There had to be something to it. When I took the time to listen to it, I was shocked that I had almost passed this by. I was feeling it. I did some more digging and found out HAZ is an emcee! MC: Are you for real?! He had lyrics to match. I downloaded Missing and rocked it in my car…a few times. I got to a friends house and thought to myself “What happened to the music?” because I wasn’t in my car. It was cool. PR:HAZ is his own PR guy. I see this cat on twitter hitting the folks he needs to, and building relationships with bloggers. Wild isn’t it?! Download JUNE BUG here. Head to Haz Solo’s MySpace and download his self titled album & Mission. HAZ SOLO BIG thanks and keep do’n yo thang.

2 words fo you…heavy rotation! I was fired up after learning about the DMV area, and what kinda music was comin outta there. I had Diamond District in heavy rotation until YU popped off wit “Before Taxes.” I was playing it so much I didn’t take the time to write about it until now. YU brings it on “Close” (ft. Slimkat78 and Isabella Banneker) wit a chill beat, poetic flows and a 20′s flapper hook. If you haven’t caught on to what’s going on in the DMV, you need to. Download YU “Before Taxes” and get hooked to it. Check out YU on the Diamond District’s site or MySpace. BIG thanks to the Fresh Selects fam for posting this one.
