I’m an 80′s baby and thought some of the stuff that came outta there was wack. Yeah I said wack. Anyways, rocking Sudan Life’sThe Soundbomber Does The 80′s made me reminisce about the good things in the 80′s; like a Commandore 64, Eddie Murphy Movies (that were rated R & funny), and Voltron (f*!k a Power Ranger). I guess the 80′s were the sh*t. Sudan Life kills it with this 80′s sample. He admits himself that some are good and some are bad, but either way I think you’ll bump The Soundbomber Does The 80′s like it was 1984. Download Sudan Life – The Soundbomber Does The 80′s on bandcamp.com. BIG thanks Sudan Life for the heads up on this. Keep those beats coming.

My man Thelonious was dropping beat tape after beat tape. One day we were tweeting, and he mentioned he was looking to work with some emcees. K. Sparks was one that he brought up a couple of times, and told me to keep my ears open. Shortly after, Thelonious emailed me this dope track called Obsession that I kept playing it over and over. It’s a little dark, but the combo of the 2 works is awesome. I started digging for more K. Sparks stuff, but no luck. A couple of months passed and I seen that 2 Dope Boyz and KevinNottingham.com presents K. SparksSuper Senior. I was like “what?! That’s dope.” The album has a good mix and with 25 tracks you’ll find the one you crank the volume up on. Obsession isn’t featured on Super Senior, but I’m sure there’s another project in the works with it. Download K. Sparks – Super Senior from DJBooth.net. Also check out Thelonious – Big Wheels & Gold Teeth. BIG thanks to Thelonious for the heads up.

Alright Falling Up is another one that I’ve been holding on to way too long. A while back I heard a few tracks from Frank Ramz, and hit him up to find out if he had more to check out…sure enough he did. Not 1 or 2, but 3 other projects he cranked out. 1 after Falling Up, and 2 before that. Was I sleeping on this cat or what?! Time to wake up. I rocked Falling Up for a few weeks, and can’t really find a reason not to have this. Short and sweet, download Frank Ramz – Falling Up here. Check out Frank Ramz latest projects at Medusaville. Also hit him up on Twitter and MySpace. BIG thanks to Frank Ramzfor making a gang of work to check out.

Saturday morning (afternoon for everyone else) chilling with no plans. turned on the computer and checked email and twitter to see what’s the buzz. I read DJ Neil Armstrong’s tweets that he was chilling at The Block in Orange. I hit him up to see if he was down for an interview, and he was like “Come on down.” I jetted from Pasadena to Orange in under an hour to bring you this great footage. BIG thanks DJ Neil Armstrong for taking the time.

Nero is that rap where you said, “where was I…sleeping?” I can’t remember where I foundAlive & Vibrant: Relive The Moment, but it is killer. I had it for 2 days and finally threw it on when I was in the car. I was rock’n out to stuff I was reviewing, and some heavy rotations. When it got to Alive & Vibrant: Relive The Moment. I picked up my ipod and was like “wow, who’s this?” Nero’s sound is classic, but truly stands out on his own. Rugged & Raw sets it off, and lets you know this cat can killa mic. The track that takes you back is Flava In Ya Ear (NBA Jam Edition) ft. Truck North, Chip Tha Ripper, The Kid Daytona & El Prez. Yeah you remember Craig Mac. Nero is the cat that’s making big waves, so keep your ears open & your eyes peeled. Download Alive & Vibrant: Relive The Moment here. Check out Nero on MySpace and on Twitter. BIG thanks to Nero for making banging music.

Most of the events I write about are in LA, but this one is the CunninLynguists! If you didn’t catch that video I posted check it out. Back to the topic. These cats are going to be preforming at QN5 Megashow FRIDAY! If you are in the New York area I suggest you check this one out. It’s going to be a banger. BIG thanks Noel for the reminder.
Ok, I was sleepin. I had downloaded this to check it out, but when I got to it I was like, “this has got some bangers.” I crept this in between my heavy rotations and it fit like a glove. I just kept nodding my head like the music didn’t skip a beat. “Stereo,” “Impossible,” and ” Calypso Flow” are just to name a few of my favs. Diz Gibran & Moonshie are like the new dynamic duo. I’ma stop talking and let you check it fo yo-self. Download “Soon You’ll Understand” from their site. Swing by MySpace and see what else Diz Gibran and MoonShine are workin on. BIG thanks to Potholes In My Blog for this one. On and can’t forget those cats at Crooks & Castles.

I was doing my regular reading on FLWRPT.com and was rockin the new Flipped (v8.0), then I started to check the older post. I ran across the title “Sidenote: Kicks & Snares Vol.1,” read it, downloaded it, and rocked that half hour beat tape twice. Yeah not once but twice. Algorythm came with crazy beats and a smooth sound. I was feelin it so much, I got a hold of Darien at FLWRPT, and he gave me the low down on this dope producer. They grew up together in DC and slowly but surely each made their way out to BedStuy. Both cats’ careers are taking off like a rocket ship. Keep your eyes pealed and your ears open for Algorythm to see what’s coming next at AlgorythmMusic.com. Download Kicks & Snares Vol.1, and hear what I’m talking about. Check the fam at FLWRPT.com, BIG thanks to Darien for the heads up.
Doing some blog reading when the “Hearing Kolor II” title caught my eye. Soon after downloading it, the tunes caught my ear. Frontier brings an eclectic sound of color to your ears. He brings everything from a cinematic space-age to a big hip hop production sound. If the first track doesn’t hit you right away, check the next one. Whatever you’re looking for is in there. Download the Hearing Kolor II here. Check out what Frontier is up to on his MySpace page. BIG thanks to Infinite Cycle for the heads up on this one.
