Art Barz – Off With His Head 2 Ft. Black Cloud Music

Yes, that’s what I’m talking about. If you aren’t familiar with Black Cloud yet, now would be a good time to check out the roster of talent. And they keep adding to it. At work I cranked it up in the headphones and rocked out in my seat. “OFF WITH HIS HEAD!” I’m very proud of the music that is coming out of the I.E., and Black Cloud is making some BIG moves. Keep your eyes and ears open.

Richard Wright – Open Minded

The combination of J. Bizness and Richard Wright is like chocolate and peanut butter. You like both separately, but together is some other level sh!t. With all the guest appearances J. Bizness and Richard Wright are reaching for outer space on this one. Open Minded is the best thing that has dropped this year, and you can quote me on that . I mean I was having a hard time trying to select tracks for this post, and that man Noa James is a beast. J. BiznessRichard Wright, Skeem Price, Trek Life, and Val The Vandle  that track Go! is like an all-star team. Open Minded is totally worth any price they set for it. Go buy Richard Wright – Open Minded on Illregular Instrumentals. BIG thanks J. Bizness for the heads up. You got a winning team there sir. Keep it going.

Noa James – Beautiful Darkness

Real talk… Don’t sleep on the I.E.!  They are coming for you and they’ve unleashed the beast Noa James with Beautiful Darkness.  He’s Coming and the title track Beautiful Darkness bring this dark murky feeling, and then Noa James breaks out his weapon of choice on My Bars, My Life.  When I play F#ckin With You featuring Tomorrow, Yesterday I was thinking Noa declared victory.  With Miss Bliss’ lyrics on Blissful, the party begins!  This is an album worth copping.  Go buy Noa James on BandCamp or ask for him at your local record shop.  BIG thanks Noa and the whole Black Cloud fam.

Noa James – Disrespectful (Feat. Curtiss King)

Elevated Ruffians – Magnificent Soul (EP)

I don’t know, maybe I’m a sucka for sampling, but the Elevated Ruffians know how to make it a hit.  Or it could be because they’re rep’n the I.E. to the fullest.  Or just maybe it’s the combination of word play and content.  Either way…DOWNLOAD IT!  I got an email from the  Elevated Ruffians with all kinds of links and musical goodness.  The Magnificent Soul EP was in there too.  I was listening and when I heard Noa James on Nothin’ New, I knew I had to post this up.  The track was popping, but got a couple levels higher when the Noa dropped some lines. Download Elevated Ruffians – The Magnificent Soul EP on Bandcamp.  Check out The Magnificent Soul LP on ReverbNation. Keep your eyes open for other projects from their crew, elevatedSOUL and MAGNIFICENT RUFFIANS.BIG thanks Elevated Ruffians for shooting this over. Keep doing what you’re doing.

Yasin – War Iza Reality

DON’T SLEEP on the I.E.!  That’s real talk people.  Black Cloud Records has got a gang of artists that are putting the I.E. on the map.  Yasin is one cat you may have heard of or caught a track he’s been featured on. Sound Of A Monster, Black Friday Tape, and now War Iza Reality are just a few projects Yasin has be involved with.  War Iza Reality is a banger.  On Murder Cops (ft. Jynxx), Yasin doesn’t hold back on expressing how he feels about (some) cops, and the Oakland tragedy.  Overall this is a head nodding Hip Hop album.  Download Yasin – War Iza Reality here. BIG thanks to Noa for the heads up.

Curtiss King – Snick @ Nite

My man Noa James shot me an email, and was like you gotta check out Curtiss King’s Snick @ Nite.  After listening to Bangin’ On A Trash Can & Guttah Gullah Island I was feeling it, and was sure Snick @ Nite was *ish that’s going to be on some other level.  Right away I was digging the play on Nick at Nite.  Curtiss throws out all the old cartoons that I watched.  That’s when I knew this project as dope.  Download Curtiss King – Snick @ Nite here.  Want more Curtiss King ?!  Check out his other projects on Brick To Ya Face.  BIG thanks Noa for the heads up.  I.E. is bring’n it in 2010!

The Spliff: Kooley High

SpliffDec4th2009Val The Vandle is at it again. Bringing the acts you want to see, and ones you NEED to see.  This Friday The Spliff’s got the best from the I.E. Noa James. The only way I can describe Noa James is he’ll spit ill lyrics, choke you out with the mic cord, and stomp a hole in your chest.  He’s that ill. Check out Sounds Of A Monster and you’ll know what I’m talking about. And on the other side of the spectrum you got Kooley High. The last time they were out here I didn’t get a chance to see them perform, but this time I’m there. If you get a chance catch Kooley High’s  documentary One Day before you head to the show. To round out the list you’ll have Ty & Kory from Buddha Brown, Speak from AppleBird, and Hawdwerk & Jansport J- who dropped High Power Moves a while back, so download a copy of that too. VerBs will be your host for the evening and always on deck Val The Vandle, Spintelect, GroWeyez & Printz Paul. This will definitely be a show to see. Catch you all at The Spliff! BIG thanks to Val for the heads up.

Black Cloud Music – Black Friday Tape

BCM - Black Friday TapeHopefully by now you know the name Noa James, but if you don’t, no worries. Noa has been cranking out the projects like crazy with the rest of the cats on Black Cloud Music. After dropping Sounds Of A Monster, Noa, Jynxx, Curtiss King, and Art Barz are bringing Black Friday Tape. And putting it out on Black Friday (11/27/09)! Most people know Black Friday as the biggest shopping day of the year, but now you got something else to look forward to on Black Friday (11/27/09). I got a few samples of Black Friday Tape, and can’t wait for the rest of it. Download the sneak peeks from Black Friday Tape here. Full album link HERE. Noa James – Sounds Of A Monster

Noa James - Sound Of A MonsterMy man Noa James does it again. Breaking out of the cage and bringing you Sounds Of A Monster. What I dig about that cat Noa James is his lyrics. He’s clever, shares personal stories and the 90s WWF references. Sounds Of A Monster lets you in on how Noa James ticks. One of my favorite tracks on this album is Therapy Session which show how Noa can paint a picture with his lyrics. The production by some dope producers on this album complements Noa’s mic skills and vice versa. Download sounds of A monster here. Also check out In Blanka Mode. BIG thanks to Noa James & Jynxx for the low down. Keep cranking’em out IE fam.
