Real talk, I don’t think I gave Nocando’s stuff a good listen before Prometheus. The times I’ve been to Low End Theory I didn’t really get the full Nocando sound. Now if you’re like me or getting an introduction to Nocando, Zero Hour is perfect. From the production, guests, and Nocando’s flow, I got this in heavy rotation. Time for me to go back and pick up what I’ve been missing. Thavius Beck, Nosajthing, Busdriver, Mexicans With Guns, and a handful of other cats.  You would think they’re shooting for the rap album of the year award or something. Nocando - Westside Rentals

The hypnotic beat and the crazy lyrics, I can’t stop watching this video. Open Mike Eagle is having Nightmares, but should be on cloud nine with this video. The video goes from Open Mike tossing and turning in a blue/green hue of light. “I went to bed at midnight, and the clock said 1, 2, 3.” switching to a black & white with a shot of him at a free standing mic. The video’s visuals really add to the great lyrics that Open Mike Eagle spits. Really dope track and video. BIG shout to WHAT310, Willie Green and Nocando,.

You take a rapper, lets say NOCANDO, match him up with dope beatmakers, and you know a dope idea is getting ready to explode… HELLFYRE! Now throw in the homies VerBs, E.Super, Bomb Zombies, and a handful of other cats and you get the Hellfyre Club. To be honest I wasn’t sure what I was going to get outta this, but it was like a pleasant punch right in the face. Hellfyre Club presents Prometheus is packed with heavy hitting beats, and clever emcees.  I just have to put it out there, but if you aren’t up on E.Super you need to be. Open Mike Eagle – Silent Protest

The thing I love about what’s going on in music right now is there are no limits. Folks are mixing old music collections with new, collaborating with eachother, and not waiting for anyone to produce projects. E.Super are those cats. Kuest 1ndr,  Maestroe The MAd Monk, Alpha MC, Mac Digi and Alwaz Prolific are E.Super (Electro Super). A while back I got an email about E.Super dropping their album Side A urging me to check it out. I read the EPK and was like “Alpha MC?! That’s the homie. I gotta check this out.” I have to tell you I think I have been playing it a little too long without telling you all about it. It felt like I hit the lotto and didn’t want to share. Side A has an electro vibe right away, but mixed in with chill rhythms and the occasional vocals making it super. If you live in LA, you have seen this cat VerBS.  Rocking shorts, a backpack, and the signature red beanie he’ll break out a flow if the mood is right… which is most of the time you see him.
