Homeboy Sandman – Not Really

This dude, Homeboy Sandman is ill with the lyrics, and I’m really feeling this video. I dig the one shot take videos and that it’s out in the neighborhood. It all goes along with the concept of the song  Not Really. “People ask me if  my life changed…Not really.” Homeboy Sandman’s letting folks know no matter what level he’s on, he’s still the same Sandman. Keep it down to earth Homeboy Sandman.  Check out Homeboy Sandman – First Of A Living Breed on Stones Throw. Buy it and get the album booklet and check out the lyrics. Good read.

The Art of Ritchmixing: A K. Sparks Adventure

This is a very special post. Not just because it’s B+C’s 300th, but because I have written about K. Sparks and Ritchcraft in other posts. Don’t sleep on K. Sparks and Ritchcraft. These are a couple of very talented cats that are doing big things. It’s always a good feeling to know that great artists keep elevating their game.

K. Sparks is a dope emcee that has an incredible style. With Super Senior you can get the full impact of who K. Sparks is, or so I thought. I caught a couple of other tracks that he’s dropped, and each one has this kick to it like eating spicy noodles or something.  I’ve also noticed that K. Sparks is down to collaborate with new producers to come up with dope projects. When Ritchcraft shot me an email about The Art of Ritchmixing: A K. Sparks Adventure I was like, “WHAT? That’s dope!” Ritchcraft is linking up with some good folks and cranking out the projects. I think he has a sound that is complete and can stand alone, and with an emcee adds to the fire. These two make a great match, so I was more than excited to cop this project. The K. Sparks Intro had me cracking up. Stepping into Good Morning featuring Frank Ramz you know you’re going to get a solid EP. I really hope K. Sparks and Ritchcraft crank out another project. Download The Art of Ritchmixing: A K. Sparks Adventure on Band Camp. Also check out Intalek & Ritchcraft – Lives and Vibes and K. Sparks – Super Senior. Both are dope projects. BIG thanks Ritchcraft for the heads up. Keep doing what you do.

Sudan Life – The Soundbomber Does The 80′s

Sudan Life//SuPerlative - The Soundbomber Does the 80'sI’m an 80′s baby and thought some of the stuff that came outta there was wack. Yeah I said wack. Anyways, rocking Sudan Life’s The Soundbomber Does The 80′s made me reminisce about the good things in the 80′s; like a Commandore 64, Eddie Murphy Movies (that were rated R & funny), and Voltron (f*!k a Power Ranger). I guess the 80′s were the sh*t. Sudan Life kills it with this 80′s sample. He admits himself that some are good and some are bad, but  either way I think you’ll bump The Soundbomber Does The 80′s like it was 1984. Download Sudan Life – The Soundbomber Does The 80′s on bandcamp.com. BIG thanks Sudan Life for the heads up on this. Keep those beats coming.

K. Sparks – Super Senior

K.Sparks - Super SeniorMy man Thelonious was dropping beat tape after beat tape. One day we were tweeting, and he mentioned  he was looking to work with some emcees. K. Sparks was one that he brought up a couple of times, and told me to  keep my ears open. Shortly after, Thelonious emailed me this dope track called Obsession that I kept playing it over and over. It’s a little dark, but the combo of the 2 works is awesome. I started digging for more K. Sparks stuff, but no luck. A couple of months passed and I seen that 2 Dope Boyz and KevinNottingham.com presents K. Sparks Super Senior. I was like “what?! That’s dope.” The album has a good mix and with 25 tracks you’ll find the one you crank the volume up on. Obsession isn’t featured on Super Senior, but I’m sure there’s another project in the works with it. Download K. Sparks – Super Senior from DJBooth.net. Also check out Thelonious – Big Wheels & Gold Teeth. BIG thanks to Thelonious for the heads up.
