If you don’t know about the Low Budget Crew I’m guessing you have heard from one of them and you just don’t know it. Well they have come out with a beat album, yes I said album that is a dedication to the game of golf…also titled The Masters.  Just like the Masters (PGA Tour), after playing 18 tracks you’ll feel exhilarated, and want to do it all over again. Sorry no green jacket after this. yU, Kev Brown, Roddy Rod, Kaimbr, & Quartermaine break out the 9 irons and drive each banging beat straight to your ears. I played The Masters without skipping any tracks/holes. Well wroth it, so go buy Low Budget Crew – The Masters on Band Camp. I think I’ll go play a around of golf with The Masters in the headphones. Better yet just bump it in the car. BIG thanks to the Low Budget Crew for making a banging album.

My man Trek Life is not playing. This is the Year of the Trek, and with his latest album, Everything Changed Nothing, there is no questions about that. I heard So Supreme from ESPN, and a few other tracks here and there. The day the album hit stores Trek’s in-store at Fat Beats, I bought the album right then and there. On Everything Changed Nothing  Trek teamed up with super producer Oddisee to bring you this heavy hitting, west coast inspired album. I’ve had it in heavy rotation since.  To me, Everything Changed Nothing is an uplifting, inspiring, and a motivating album.  Due West, Wow, & So LA will make you get up and move. Trust me, you’ll have it in heavy rotation soon enough.  Buy Trek Life – Everything Changed Nothing at Fat Beats or your local record store.  BIG thanks Trek Life & Oddisee for making a great album, and BIG shout to DJ Buddy and J. Bizness.

I’m an 80′s baby and thought some of the stuff that came outta there was wack. Yeah I said wack. Anyways, rocking Sudan Life’s The Soundbomber Does The 80′s made me reminisce about the good things in the 80′s; like a Commandore 64, Eddie Murphy Movies (that were rated R & funny), and Voltron (f*!k a Power Ranger). I guess the 80′s were the sh*t. Sudan Life kills it with this 80′s sample. He admits himself that some are good and some are bad, but either way I think you’ll bump The Soundbomber Does The 80′s like it was 1984. Download Sudan Life – The Soundbomber Does The 80′s on bandcamp.com. BIG thanks Sudan Life for the heads up on this. Keep those beats coming.

I’m not sure how to put it, but can I be real wit you for a moment. Hip hop never dies, it just gets slept on…even by true hip hop heads. With that said, Diamond District is wakin asses up wit this one! From bangin tunes, tight lyrics, and sampling Gang Star on “I Mean Business” this is off the hook. I was lovin the first track “Who I Be,” but didn’t know all this was coming. “In The Ruff” is headed into heavy rotation in my iPod fo-sho. Check out Diamond District on their site, and BIG thanks to Put Me On It for the heads up. Download “In The Ruff” here.

Rep’n DMV (DC, Maryland, & Virgina) Oddisee, X.O. and Y.U. make up the Diamond District. They remind me of early Wu-Tang (not just because of the sample of O.D.B.) and the Goodie Mob. “Who I Be” has the eerie down-tempo sound that give it that Wu flava, but totally a sound of their own. Their album is due out April 14th…as a FREE download on their site, so check that when it comes. BIG thanks to Fresh Selects for the post, good info. Want to know about the DMV? Check the mini Documentary they made.

This is a cool track and cover art. Washington DC group Damu The Fudgemunk takes a Madvillain ( Madlib x MF Doom) track from Madvillain and puts their own spin on it. The download also comes we a couple of beat making videos and more cover art. Check it out. BIG thanks to URB tweeting about this one. Download the track here.
